Screen Reading Software

Under Software tips on this website it says that there is software now a days that will read the dialogue you type back to you with a voice you assign.

Does anyone have any idea what program this is?

There are two that I know of:

Most of the playwrights I've come across prefer Final Draft but you can make up your own mind. Neither of the packages are free, however.

If you're looking for a free text-to-speech utility, take a look at the following:

However, these are basic text-to-speech tools and will probably not have the right inflection while reading dialogue back to you.

Hi, I bought a Pinnacle Screen Capture (like a dazzle) for Mac.

It came with software but my computer doesn't read cd's - broken.

Is there a way I can just download the software? Thanks.

Or can I get it to record just out of Imovie?

well,camstudio is free completely,but sometimes so many problems come up to you.

and i am using Total Screen Recorder,i think it is simply and easy to use,no lag happens while using.(no watermark on the screen)

ve got windows xp - is there a voice reading software on my pc? i need it to be able to read out what it says on the screen.. ie - an online story ?

and yes I have checked "display", there are only three options and none is widescreen.
The machine is not that old possibly 3 years and has XP3 on it.
I have tried all updates using several update progs all to no avail. I have looked at Samsung updates also for the screen and read the handbook.
I am guessing its something to do with the supplier not installing all screen software, but I would have thought the installation disc would have sorted that!
Mmm, I had a niggle that that may be the case. I guess that my daughter will have to have a video card then.

The video card likely does not support outputting a 16:9 resolution.

I remember there was a special kind of text reading software that allowed you to read the letters of the image, for instance i have a jpeg image of a simple newspaper and this software could recognize the letters of the screen and convert them into text. So instead of reading and rewriting i could easily convert it into text in second. Please help me with the name of this program, i used to remember it but now i forgot it and i need it bad! Also if you know any other program that could do this trick then can you please tell me how it's called?

What you are talking about is OCR, or Optical Character Recognition, software. You can buy fully featured OCR software from many vendors. Or, if you want, try the freeware OCR software from http://www.simpleocr.com/.
