Under Software tips on this website it says that there is software now a days that will read the dialogue you type back to you with a voice you assign.

Does anyone have any idea what program this is?
There are two that I know of:
Movie Magic Screenwriter, available at:
http://www.screenplay.com/p-29-movie-mag ic-screenwriter-6.aspx
And Final Draft, available at:
http://www.finaldraft.com/
Most of the playwrights I've come across prefer Final Draft but you can make up your own mind. Neither of the packages are free, however.
If you're looking for a free text-to-speech utility, take a look at the following:

However, these are basic text-to-speech tools and will probably not have the right inflection while reading dialogue back to you.

Hi, I bought a Pinnacle Screen Capture (like a dazzle) for Mac.
It came with software but my computer doesn't read cd's - broken.
Is there a way I can just download the software? Thanks.
Or can I get it to record just out of Imovie?
Thanks.
you can download Jing project(free one) for Mac
if you need some on windows or vista, you can try the followings:

ZD soft is good for game recording actually.
well, camstudio is free completely, but sometimes so many problems come up to you.
and i am using Total Screen Recorder,i think it is simply and easy to use,no lag happens while using.(no watermark on the screen)
you may have a try of them to figure out which one fits you most.

To open Narrator, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to Accessibility, and then click Narrator.
Narrator overviewNarrator is a text-to-speech utility for users who are blind or have impaired vision. Narrator reads what is displayed on your screen: the contents of the active window, menu options, or the text you have typed.Narrator is designed to work with Notepad, Wordpad, Control Panel programs, Internet Explorer, the Windows desktop, and Windows setup. Narrator may not read words aloud correctly in other programs.Narrator has a number of options that allow you to customize the way screen elements are read. You can have new windows, menus, or shortcut menus read aloud when they are displayed.
You can have typed characters read aloud. You can adjust the speed, volume, or pitch of the voice.. The accessibility tools that ship with Windows are intended to provide a minimum level of functionality for users with special needs. Most users with disabilities will need utility programs with more advanced functionality for daily use.
Narrator is not available for all languages and is only supported on the English version of Windows XP.

Have your script read back to you by assigning different male and female voices to each of your characters with text-to-speech
Final Draft 8 combines powerful word processing with professional script formatting in one self-contained,
Television show, screenplay, stage play and graphic novel templates are included to help get you started
and yes I have checked "display", there are only three options and none is widescreen.
The machine is not that old possibly 3 years and has XP3 on it.
I have tried all updates using several update progs all to no avail. I have looked at Samsung updates also for the screen and read the handbook.
I am guessing its something to do with the supplier not installing all screen software, but I would have thought the installation disc would have sorted that!
Mmm, I had a niggle that that may be the case. I guess that my daughter will have to have a video card then.
Not good for a 4 year old machine.
Yep, done that!!
The video card likely does not support outputting a 16:9 resolution.
I remember there was a special kind of text reading software that allowed you to read the letters of the image, for instance i have a jpeg image of a simple newspaper and this software could recognize the letters of the screen and convert them into text. So instead of reading and rewriting i could easily convert it into text in second. Please help me with the name of this program, i used to remember it but now i forgot it and i need it bad! Also if you know any other program that could do this trick then can you please tell me how it's called?
What you are talking about is OCR, or Optical Character Recognition, software. You can buy fully featured OCR software from many vendors. Or, if you want, try the freeware OCR software from http://www.simpleocr.com/.

iPad impressions: Book reading options (iBooks vs. Kindle ...
I snagged an iPad on Saturday and have been getting it loaded with my favorite apps and tweaks. Over the next few weeks I’ll try to get into the nitty gritty of what I’m doing with my iPad and share my thoughts here. Up first, since several people have asked me about it, are some initial thoughts on two e-book options available for the iPad: Apple’s iBooks software, and Amazon’s Kindle for iPad software.
iBooksApple’s iBooks software is free, but must be installed separately through the App Store. It’s very pretty, with clear text and customizable fonts. I don’t care about the page flip animation, but combined with flipping your finger across the touchscreen, it does feel a little more like you’re reading a regular book. is loaded on the device by default. I also download some programming books I have access to in ePub format, and they look great. Not only is the text crisp and readable, but screen shots and illustrations are very clear.
