5 nights ago I noticed that it seemed darker outside and while driving in the van that the windows seemed a darker tint and had troubles driving home.
The 2 nights that followed, my vision changed drastically. It was like I was wearing sunglasses.
The last 2 nights those sunglass shapes in my eyes are now darker and I can no longer see anything that I see straight on. I do have upper and lower peripheral vision but only a sliver.
I can't seem to find anything on the internet that would describe what is happening to me. I went to my docters office yesterday and she sent me for blood work and is making an appt to see an Optometrist.
Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated.
I thought that I should also mention that I'm 34 yrs old and that I had Lasik surgery 8 yrs ago. I've contacted the office that did the surgery and they've never heard of an issue like this.
I've heard of this beforand thre are a few thing you can do to increase your night vision.
1- Buy yourself a pair of amber Shooters glasses ,this will help you see 50 times better at night and in fogy or snowyconditions.
2- eat sweet potatoes, one sweet potatoe
will give you a 3 day supply of night vision.

I have a student loan in default from when I went to college back in 2003-2004. It's only for $3,000 (plus interest from being in default), but we simply cannot find the funds to pay it off, because I am not working due to my injury last June that caused me to become legally blind (very low vision in both eyes), as well as causing scars on my face that I know startle people pretty bad when I take my sunglasses off. As well, I have a brain herniation, and it may be caused by something more than just a head injury...and because of this herniation, I have severe nerve pain and often cannot even get out of bed.
But anyway...I was not disabled when I went to college before, but I am now, and there is not much likelihood that I will fully regain my vision, as my optic nerve keeps getting damaged by glaucoma pressure spikes. I want to return to college to get an education degree so I can become a teacher, but I cannot go back to college until I take care of that student loan...but the student loan is equal to almost two months of our current incoming funds from my husband's work.
Is there any goverment or other support to help pay off a default student loan that cannot be paid off due to disabilities that I didn't have when I got the loan? How can I pay off this loan when it would mean not having money for rent, bills, groceries, etc. for two whole months? I so want to go back to college to get my degree, but I have to figure out how to deal with this student loan first...help?!
Switch your loan over to income contingent payments. You may have to pay only $5.00 a month (that's the minimum.) They base your payments on the previous years income tax return.
This also doesn't mess with your credit like a write-off or forebearance does.

I'm close to getting prescription, normal, low-numbered glasses. I think I'm on the computer way too much, but I don't want to stop going on. And I used to dim my computers screen, when it was too bright, but with this new laptop I cant. So I thought why not wear sunglasss on the computer, so my eyes dont get ruined by the brightness of the computer. Is this smart? Will it improve or dis-improve my vision?
wearing sun glasses while working on the computer will improve your vision for sure. I've done it for years and can now see clearly for two and one half miles with 20/20 vision

Hi
I own a pair of nice sunglasses, love the frame.
However the lens are too light for my preference
is there a way to darken the lenses at a low cost?
also i use them during driving alot so perhaps a solution
which wont impair my vision too much would be best
thx
No, there is no cheap way to darken sunglasses. You can find super dark sunglasses for really cheap - check out the link below:

i love'em to death but for some reason i have a hard time seeing out of them no matter how light or dark the tint is on them. sometimes i walk into wall, poles, chairs, and i STAY hitting my legs on low tables (like coffee table height).
i feel like my vision (especially peripheral) has been cut down & limited. my vision wearing sunglasses isn't blurred or misconstrued in any way, i just don't see EVERYTHING like i do when i don't wear them. i can't see through sunglasses as well as i can without them. weird much?
what the hell is wrong with me? i have normal 20/20 vision but for some reason i just don't see as well with them on - i'm not as alert or aware as i normally am, is this somewhat freakish, should i go see a doctor or something?
should i wear baseball caps instead of sunglasses?
i have dark brown eyes
I'm not sure...
This is better asked in the eye section of health...
Optometry I think it is...
