I want to get lasik but Im afraid my vision isn't bad enough. I have -2.00 in both eyes and -.25 astigmatism. I wear contacts but i get sick of putting them in and taking them out everyday and not being able to fall asleep watching tv and not being able to see the clock when I wake up. Would I be a good candidate for it? I have still have to wait though b/c even though im old enough my eyes haven't stablized yet.
Your prescription is well within the range that they do LASIK on. Prescriptions like yours often yield the best results.

Creative Zen Vision M 30GB: How long will a battery charge last when watching videos? Also, does it hurt anything to charge before it gets low, or can you charge it too long? How often do you charge yours?
battery life depends on the age of your player. the box says 4 hours but when mine was new it was closer to 5 - 5.30 hours. now that its almost a year old video battery is about 3 hours. however the charge will last longer if you let the battery drain to atleast a quarter before you charge it. i charge mine 2 - 3 times a fortnight but thats because i mainly use it for music nowadays. also i havnt had any problems when leaving in the charger overnight or for an extended period of time.
hope this helps

One person suggests a torn retina, but the effect of this experience was only temporary--only about 7 minutes.
The obstruction formed a horizontal brown curtian across the lower 60 % of my vision with a jagged, almost saw-toothed border. I could see over the top of the curtain and it followed my eye movements perfectly.
After a few minutes, the right side normalized a little with the jaggedness assuming a trapezoid shape and vision maintaining clear over the top, and restored 15% to the right, opeining to the bottom.
I watched as the jagged line receded and the brown curtain dissolved, right to left; the whole process taking about 7 minutes.
Any suggestions?
The jaggedness suggests migraine aura.I have what you describe and it lasts 15 minutes at a time. You do not have to have a headache to have this type of migraine. As with all types of visual disturbances you need to get a correct diagnosis from your GP.When this happens o me I see it begining and then it builds to what can be described as a cresendo when visual impairment is at its peak before starting to recede when vision returns to normal.I see jagged edges of silver and black and there is a distinct dullness to my vision.t often feels like this is happening in only one eye but when I put a hand over one eye I can still see the disturbances in the other so it is affecting both.Hope this info is useful but do see the Doc.

Could this have been caused by an obstructed capillary that nurished part of the eye?
Thanks, Ben
There was no flashing lights. The jagged border was a definite margin of the brown curtain which I could see over, and vision was 100% obstructed below that line.
Thanks, Jenny: I'm in the mission field now, will see a doc next month on my return. My vision has restored to normal now.
NO!!! That sounds like a retinal tear and potential detachment. You should go to the emergency room immediately unless you see an ophthalmologist that takes after hours calls. Everything you described here is symptomatic of a detachment.

Ok I'm 15 and i have recently started working out as i am growing more and more unhealthy, just today i was running and everything was fine, other than my legs burning, but that is true of any running so i was not worried at all by this, I finished my run and came inside sat down and started to watch T.V and after about 15 minutes, i realized i had a slight loss of vision, although, if i closed my right eye, my left eye worked fine, and if i closed my left eye my eight eye was OK. So i presumed i was cross-eyed for some reason.
After this, I surfed the web for answers (which was increasingly difficult considering my vision was somewhat unreliable) i found nothing other than some people saying it could be due to low blood pressure. So i then took my blood pressure and it was 124/70 (1. Is this high or low?) bearing in mind i am 6" and 119 pounds (12.8 st)
Whilst writing this, my vision is OK, but i am light headed and my sinuses are going crazy, my eyes hurt and I am having a hard time.
Could anyone help me by telling me what to do at this minute, and/or what to do in the future if this persists, should i visit my doctor? or what should i do? Sleep? (I had about 7/8 hours the night before) eat? (i have had a considerable amount of fruit recently.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
You're probably just tired from working out. Drink lots of water and you shouldn't have problems any further after resting.
If problems persist- your vision doesn't return- I suggest going to see an optometrist and explaining your problem in person, so that they might perform examinations to see what's wrong.
