Is it smart to wear sunglasses only for when I'm on the computer?

I'm close to getting prescription, normal, low-numbered glasses. I think I'm on the computer way too much, but I don't want to stop going on. And I used to dim my computers screen, when it was too bright, but with this new laptop I cant. So I thought why not wear sunglasss on the computer, so my eyes dont get ruined by the brightness of the computer. Is this smart? Will it improve or dis-improve my vision?

wearing sun glasses while working on the computer will improve your vision for sure. I've done it for years and can now see clearly for two and one half miles with 20/20 vision

How to darken sunglasses?

Hi

I own a pair of nice sunglasses, love the frame.
However the lens are too light for my preference

is there a way to darken the lenses at a low cost?

also i use them during driving alot so perhaps a solution
which wont impair my vision too much would be best

thx

No, there is no cheap way to darken sunglasses. You can find super dark sunglasses for really cheap - check out the link below:

is it weird that i can't see out of sunglasses?

i love'em to death but for some reason i have a hard time seeing out of them no matter how light or dark the tint is on them. sometimes i walk into wall, poles, chairs, and i STAY hitting my legs on low tables (like coffee table height).

i feel like my vision (especially peripheral) has been cut down & limited. my vision wearing sunglasses isn't blurred or misconstrued in any way, i just don't see EVERYTHING like i do when i don't wear them. i can't see through sunglasses as well as i can without them. weird much?

what the hell is wrong with me? i have normal 20/20 vision but for some reason i just don't see as well with them on - i'm not as alert or aware as i normally am, is this somewhat freakish, should i go see a doctor or something?

should i wear baseball caps instead of sunglasses?
i have dark brown eyes

I'm not sure...

This is better asked in the eye section of health...

Optometry I think it is...

Do you know any one with Cone Rod Distrophy? A degernerative eye disease.?

My 14 year old son has just been diagnosed with a degenerative eye disease called Cone rod distrophy (CRD). This rare eye disease we are told will result in poor/low vision or blindness along with colour and clarity distortion. We would like to know of any one else with the condition with information on what my son may expect in the future. He is experiencing problems seeing well at night and finds bright light a problem. He is now wearing sunglasses and a cap through-out the day. We are told he will experience a slow degeneration of his sight because he has damaged cones & rods in the back of his eyes.

Sounds similar to RP (retinitis pigmentosa) to me. All you can do is make sure he gets a healthy diet, exercises regularly, and takes supplements like pycnogenol and ginkgo biloba to help with circulation. Other than that, pray for a miracle.

I need advise on night vision. I can no longer see in the dark.?

5 nights ago I noticed that it seemed darker outside and while driving in the van that the windows seemed a darker tint and had troubles driving home.

The 2 nights that followed, my vision changed drastically. It was like I was wearing sunglasses.

The last 2 nights those sunglass shapes in my eyes are now darker and I can no longer see anything that I see straight on. I do have upper and lower peripheral vision but only a sliver.

I can't seem to find anything on the internet that would describe what is happening to me. I went to my docters office yesterday and she sent me for blood work and is making an appt to see an Optometrist.

Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated.
I thought that I should also mention that I'm 34 yrs old and that I had Lasik surgery 8 yrs ago. I've contacted the office that did the surgery and they've never heard of an issue like this.

I've heard of this beforand thre are a few thing you can do to increase your night vision.
1- Buy yourself a pair of amber Shooters glasses ,this will help you see 50 times better at night and in fogy or snowyconditions.
2- eat sweet potatoes, one sweet potatoe
will give you a 3 day supply of night vision.

  • Sunglasse » Blog Archive » Nike Contact Lenses Puts Sun Glasses on ...

Before the invention of Nike contact lenses, the only way athletes could block the sun from their eyes was through sunglasses. This in itself was very inconvenient, especially for sports requiring a lot of running or jumping movement. There was always the potential that the sunglasses could come off and/or get scratched while the athlete was at play. With Nike contact lenses, this worry would become nonexistent.

    What are Nike contact lenses?

Nike contact lenses are a special type of contact lenses that use a light-filtering tint to improve the focusing power of the athlete’s vision. They can be used whether or not a person has developmental visual problems.

Nike contacts come in four different tints: golf tint, hi-vis tint, speed tint and polarized tint. Golf tint, just like its name suggests, is designed for being able to better see the grass and the ball while one is going golfing. The specific colors that one can see clearer with golf tint are green, red and blue.
