Do few blind people lie about their condition?

I am in a subway car and I see this blind person getting around in the car. She has the stick but no dog or assistant to help her. She begged for money but by the tone of her voice and her way of talking, I cant tell if she is telling the truth or fooling everybody. And I start to think whether blind people can move around easy in a subway station or car. Is she really blind or not?

There is different levels of blindness. From legally blind some one that has 20/200 vision or worse, to total blindness. If that person is not totally blind she may be able make out shapes and see a little contrast between light and dark.

Ground breaking technology lends vision to the blind

Could you stick to your principles and avoid charity organizations? (joke)?

The local United Way office realized that it had never received a donation from the town's most successful lawyer. The volunteer in charge of contributions called him to persuade him to contribute. "Our research shows that out of a yearly income of more than $600,000 you give not a penny to charity. Wouldn't you like to give back to the community in some way?"
The lawyer mulled this over for a moment and replied, "First, did your research also show that my mother is dying after a long illness, and has medical bills that are several times her annual income?" Embarrassed, the United Way rep mumbled, "Um ... No."
"Second, that my brother, a disabled veteran, is blind and confined to a wheel chair?" The stricken United Way rep began to stammer out an apology, but was cut off.
"Third, that my sister's husband died in a traffic accident," the lawyer's voice rising in indignation, "leaving her penniless with three children?!" The humiliated United Way rep, completely beaten, said simply,
"I had no idea ..."
On a roll, the lawyer cut him off once again, "... And I don't give any money to them, so why should I give any to you?!?"
Please feel free to browse my other questions, I post jokes all the time.
Thank you very much $pOnGeBoB

Now that made me laugh good joke congrats

Can police officer, by law, request individuals to turn off their recording device?

Hiya,

I was just reading another thread where someone got some bogus charges (while said individual did do something else that was rather stupid) while having no physical evidence; and I was wondering, since in some places cops are just so...I'm going to say "not really up-holding the law but rather terrorize ordinary citizens", instead of corrupt (I've seen way too much of those TV footage), and even though they have their cameras they could "lose" the tape if they really wanted to "unintentionally" do it, would a citizen be entitled to record just any encounter with police officers?

I mean, either in public places or on private property, is there a law that specifically empowers police officers to stop citizens from recording police activity (if said recorder was the subject of police business)? Is there a difference if they were arresting an individual or just writing a ticket? (if there was just a warning, then there would be no need for evidence for anyone

And by recorder I mean either cameras or voice recorders.

I'm just talking about strictly in the law's sense, disregarding if said police officer would proceed to knock you on the ground and start beating you with his stick vehemently in blind fury while yelling whatever racial slur that would apply.

Thanks, I just have these weird technical questions from time to time.

ps. I know not all officers are the way they are in my example, and I apologize if offends any of you. (the beating part was just a joke, and in case snotty people propose such scenario)
I just asked two questions, one I deleted because I realized that the title wasn't very clear - it lacked the "by law" clause. Why, just curious?
Well, I suppose I should have mentioned that the recording device would be employed to the "suspected criminal's" benefit (meaning they'd record they're own arrest/ticket/whatever) instead of filming someone else (it was sort of clear how I described it).

So is it that they just have the ways and means but not the specific law, which prohibits a suspect's recording of their own encounter with the police, on their side?

So if a recorder was able to record the incident without the police's knowledge (voice recorders these days aren't as out-standing as cameras with very noticeable lenses), and I'm not talking about a hostage situation or disorderly conduct (which has nothing to do with recording), it would be valid evidence? (I'm assuming if there's no law that prohibits the recording of ONESELF's encounter with the police - again, oneself and not someone else, then they can't charge you for withholding the fact of a recording taking place)

no cops do not have the right to order you to turn of you camera they tell you to turn it off so you would have no live footage in case they happen to do something wrong ......... because they have the badge on there side they can arrested you for disorderly conduct or something like that just so they can take possession of your property and remove the tape or press play on it to record over it and i don't care which cops read this.... this is a fact i experienced my self not saying all cops are like this but they know who they are.........and there are law's to protect you in a matter like this it's called police misconduct

A message to those who ignore the existence of Allah (the God)?

Allah has sent down miracles, revelations and messengers to give clear proofs He exists and more important, what we should do once we come to this realization.

Allah has sent prophets and messengers with many proofs throughout the ages for people to be able to clearly see with their own eyes and to be able to use their own senses the miracles and proofs pointing to the fact, Allah does in fact, exist.

Miracles of prophets and messengers of Allah have come to people through the ages. Moses (peace be upon him) showed many miracles to pharaoh and to the children of Israel. Plagues, locusts, water turning to blood, his stick becoming a snake, the voice in the burning bush and the parting of the Red Sea are clear miracles for the people of Moses time.

Again, Allah sent Jesus, the son of Mary (peace be upon him) with clear miracles for the people of his time. Speaking from the cradle while still a new born infant, creating birds from clay, curing the sick, giving sight to the blind and even bringing a dead man back to life, were all clear signs to the people to know Jesus (peace be upon him) was a messenger of Allah as was Moses before him.

Muhammad (peace be upon him) was the last and final messenger of Allah, and he was sent to all of mankind. Allah sent him with a number of miracles, not the least of which was the Quran. The predictions and prophecies of Muhammad (peace be upon him) have come true even in this century and the Quran has been used to convince even scientists of the existence of Allah.
[Please visit "Science Proves Allah": Watch video of famous scientists admit Quran is from Allah and even accept Islam]

The Quran is the best of proofs for the existence of Allah and today over one and half billion people memorize and recite from the exact text, in the exact same language it was revealed in; Arabic. More than 10 million Muslims have completely memorized the entire Quran from cover to cover, and can recite it from memory without looking at it.

No one sees or hears Allah, not even the prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Nor are we able to use our senses to make some kind of contact with Him. However, we are encouraged in Islam to use our senses and our common sense to recognize this entire universe could not possibly come into existence on its own. Something had to design it all and then put it into motion. This is beyond our ability to do, yet it is something we can understand.

We know from the teachings of Muhammad (peace be upon him) the proofs for the existence of God (Allah) are most obvious to us in our everyday surroundings. Anyone with understanding would quickly acknowledge His existence provided they are not so stubborn as to ignore the obvious evidences right in front of us.

We don't have to see an artist to recognize a painting, correct? So, if we see paintings without seeing artists painting them, in the same way, we can believe Allah created everything without having to see Him (or touch, or hear, etc.).

yada yada yada.

you all worship the same invisible man hiding in the sky.

RATM inspired lyrics. rate please?

What happened to freedom, what happened to peace?
It seems like both have been lost overseas.

We’re fightin an enemy, that’s not even real
It’s got the stamp of approval, the presidential seal.

Stand up alone, and they’ll silence you quick.
You need more voices to make your point stick.

They tell you to stand up for red white and blue.
What’s left to stand up for, what more can we do?

Chorus: (maybe)
The public is blind, and believe what they’re told.
The future belongs to the proud and the bold.
Develop an army, who knows where you’ll go
Get to the top, rise up and overthrow.

Time to give grace to the powers that be
Drive out the false patriots that fill up D.C.

When a native son starts to question beliefs,
An unseen army brings the top relief.

It’s a sea of corruption, a world of crime.
These are the yokes enslaving our time.

But now it’s our time, so now take the chance.
Take down the bullshit, end the same old dance.

Chorus.

Working title, Army of One. dont critiscize the structure, because i know that that's awful. I just vaguely threw that together. just comment on the content and flow of the lyrics. theres gonna be a drum intro, then heavy, angry guitar. it will be very rage-ish

suggest titles too, if you want.

If by Rage-ish you mean like Rage Against the Machine, then I can see where you're going.

To sing the song, it could sound weird, because it's got the constant A-B rhyme scheme.

Lyrically, I think it's pretty good though.

JLo's Singing Voice SANS FARDS | Dlisted

" In the studio without any effects.

Even the thought of listening to JLo singing au naturale makes my ears want to split like a daughter walking in on her mother with a finger in the oatmeal craisin cookie jar, but this clip could be a lot worse. Don't get me wrong, Celine Dion's vommy barfs sound better than this, but my ears are still attached to my head.

And after the jump is the NSFJ (not safe for Jesus) visual of a daughter walking in on her mother with a finger in the oatmeal craisin cookie jar. It's just what you needed today, I know. JUMP!

The likes of Heidi Montag and Paris Hilton don't count. They are nothing and go without saying. I'm talking about people who have sustained success in the music industry at a high level.
