I listen to a variety of music (japanese, techno, rock, really anything), but i mean not everyone does that i hang out with. So i guess my question is what songs can you sing with people and have a good time when your just messing around on the bus or something.
I listen to stuff like rhapsody of fire, death cab for cutie, postal service, blind gaurdian, enrique inglesias, and a few songs from some boy bands but generally not. I dont do country

a friend of mine who is going into high school is very nearly blind (1 word at a time a centeimeter away) and she wants to do community service but because of her dissability she is having a hard time what projects do you reccomend she work on?
Good for her wanting to do community service, even when she is adapting to her own limitations. They say you are only limited by your imagination.
Since she is a walker, I encourage that, also nursing homes and Children's Hospitals, maybe an exercises program for the shut ins. Or she could tape stories on cassettes to replay for those that cannot read, they love to listen to stories.
Hats off to her and thank you for bringing it to our attention.....thank you
Also, if you happen to know more about the muslim view on dogs in general, that would be interesting. It just seems like there must be something important about dogs to forbid the blind that service. Or is it the service itself maybe? Is it more to do with suffering as God has prescribed than with the type of animal? I'll stop guessing - you tell me.
It is partly a case of dogma becoming too extreme. Islam forbids the eating of pigs and any carnivore including dogs, cats, and birds of prey. In addition dogs are considered unclean because they are scavengers.
Dogs became listed as ritually unclean, and then later totally forbidden as pets. Some sects of Islam consider them OK for work animals but that forming attachments is forbidden. Many Muslims that have immigrated to the US to escape Sharia law now keep dogs and see such attitudes as being way too extreme.

I'm 18 years old and blind. I am not receiving SSI, but I do receive survivors benefits because of my deceased father. I only get about $1,000/month, the same as several blind friends who are on SSI and getting help from Blind Services. I was told that I'm not eligible for SSI because my mother's income still factors into it until I turn 22. I thought that was only the case if I was mentally disabled and in her custody. Fact is I am not in her custody any longer. Can anyone help make this more clear? I'm in Florida, if that matters.

It's called JAWS. It is one of many screen reading programs that blind people use to convert text on screen to audible speech and navigate the computer and the internet with only the keyboard... no mouse. So yes, I can read your answers. There are blind computer programmers working for Google and other major corporations. It's nothing special.
I am ***NOT*** receiving SSI because I am already receiving survivor benefits. I am ***NOT*** trying to apply for SSI in any way shape or form. I just want to know if I am STILL eligible for Medicaid.
Oh my god, can't you people read??? I AM NOT TRYING TO GET SSI!!! I DO NOT NEED SSI!!! I AM TRYING TO GET ***MEDICAID***!!! Forget it. It would be easier to spend three hours on hold and deal with the people at SSA that don't even speak English.
It does not matter what your disability is. Once you are over 18, if you can prove you are an independent adult, you can apply for SSI and your parents income does not count. You must be able to prove you pay rent, utilities, telephone, have a place to cook meals.

A pilot project from the Principal?s Taskforce on Virtualization put two different models of virtualization into practice this past year. Leger said students in POLS 110 and BIOL102 were polled throughout the process to gauge their approval. More than 80 per cent of students polled in both courses found it useful or extremely useful, he said, adding that none of the professors involved noticed a significant drop in attendance. ?The students actually said they listened more in class. ? They?re worried less about taking notes, they?re worried less about missing something,? he said. Leger said while the first model of virtualization used the lecture-capture system to supplement lectures, the...
