I have tried looking at the sun quite a few times, can usually count to about 4 or 5 with each eye before my body makes me look away (probably because of the pain and long term damage it is doing to my retinas).
Obviously no one who is a professional sun spotter will be able to help me, as they will be unable to read this question (unless they have that cool Steven Hawkins voice device thing!), but preferrably someone who has maybe has their vision fade to black from it then recovered it (thinking along the lines of that film Pi (couldnt find the maths symbol on this keyboard) )??
Thanks!
I don't know, but I understand if you look at a total eclipse, the corona of the sun will burn your retinas in a matter of seconds. So, do you go blind faster looking at an eclipse in totality, than you would when looking at the sun in its entirety?
As a child, I would often glimpse at the sun for a second or two. I am now 55 years old, and I do have vision problems. Not blind, but, many floaters and sometimes blurred vision. Is this a result of old age, or a result of the many times I glanced directly at the sun?
Also, how come you can look directly at the sun in the evenings when it is blood red?
Maybe that's why I have vision problems now.

PC system is WIN XPHome/SP2 with all current WIN updates for security, etc. Have booted and re-booted, de-installed/reinstalled, and looked for a newer driver from MS, but none available that I can find. Current driver # is 5.1.2535.0 from Microsoft. Could it be some arcane security or other setting that somehow got changed? Hardware profile states 'device working properly'; all well and good but if the system can't 'see' the CD drive with a disk loaded, how can it be 'working properly'? Any ideas?! Thanks in advance for your help!!
what u have to do is use another computer to burn the WinXP cd on to a jump drive. than with the computer with the problem you have to take out the CD drive. than put the jumpdrive and restart the computer. when the computer is booting hit the menu key ( it is probably f12 or another key similar to that). than u have to reinstall the operating system using the flash drive. once that is done u should go through the instructions for installing your CD/DVD drive. this worked for me when i had a problem similar to yours
I'm looking for a specific type of electronic. I don't know the name or type of object, so I'll only say what it should have:
*It should be able to read (and uptake from computer ) written files from Adobe Reader. I got a CD that contains some books, but only open for Adobe, and it will cost too much to print them all.
*It should allow electronic writing and drawing (with a stylus or something), like an electonic notebook.
*Easy to connect and use, and possibly newest or best version of object.
* Very light and easy to carry around. Should be around the size of 8.5inches height, 5.5 inches length and 1 inch width (a.k.a: around the size of half an average school notebook)
also, what would be great is if it had:
*note taking at the side of the reading.
*bookmarking
*writing to text changer, to make your notes easy to switch to computer text
*plugin with a USB cord
*from medium to large space
*colour
*battery that charges with the wall plug.
*sreen light that doesnt blind eyes
thanks!
Also, to make it easier, it doesn't need to have:
*internet
*photos
*MP3

Seeing Eye Dogs are soooooooo 2k9 …….. | kill.thatdamnpatient.com
It consists of 2 parts glasses and a plastic lolly pop you put under your tongue. The glasses have a camera that will take a picture and transmit it to the lolly pop which in turn transmitts the electrical signals to your tongue. The pattern of the signals tells you that the thing you’re looking at ……. well ….. looks like. It’s not super accurate yet and the current model only has 400 sensors but the “final production” model should have 4,000 sensors.
And if anyone is interested (I’m sure one person reading this must know at least one blind person) the brainport website is this and the cost to buy the device and train someone is around 18,000 pounds …….
