If you haven't received a good answer for your question, you may want to consider the following,
1) Re-post your question. Newer questions get more activity on Yahoo! Answers than old ones.
2) If you do re-post your question, consider why it wasn't answered the first time. Could it be more specific? Could it be worded better? Were there grammatical or spelling errors? Was it in the best category?
If it doesn't seem likely that re-posting your question will help you, then here's a listing of my favorite 'answer sites'. Maybe one of them will help you.

I know a few blind people, and they hardly use Braille at all, although they learned to read it and used it a bit in school.
Most of them use materials readily available at regular libraries: audio versions of books. The ones whose habits I know "read" the books without help on a CD player (or cassette player), but need help selecting them from the library. Either a family member or friend goes with them, or a staff member helps.
Those who live too far from a library, or whose library doesn't include an audio collection, can get recordings free from the Library of Congress, which has been providing this service to the blind since phonograph records were invented.
Curt, the blind guy I know best, used readers in college, fellow students paid to read textbooks aloud to him. He'd also tape record the reading so he could review.
I made it to the palace and I am in the library with the blind monks. Why can't I sit down in the chair???

saved my life so many times in that game, seriously.
I am legally blind, but I can still read large print. I already get braille, large print, and audio books from my state library for the blind, but some books I can only get through Bookshare (a service for the blind and learning disabled that produces books in .xml and .html formats from scanned books). I hate reading books from Gutenberg and Bookshare on my desktop, and my laptop doesn't have that great of a battery life, so I am wondering if the Sony Reader might be a good portable option for me. I can read print that is at least 14 point, but prefer 16 or 18 if possible. How large is the large font size? Are there any add-on programs or hacks that can increase the font size beyond what the machine ships with? Is the digital paper display comfortable to read for long periods?
I have a sony reader and not only is it comfortable but also its zoom function is able to make huge sized font (20 or more) if the book is from a pdf format but with the ones you have I am unsure.

Radio Service for the Blind Ending | KCPW
04.05.2010 by Elizabeth Ziegler
(KCPW News) For more than three decades, the Utah State Library has operated a radio station for the blind with 100 volunteers reading the daily news, obituaries and advertisements from local papers. But now it will end April 21 due to budget cuts, declining interest, new technology and competition. State Librarian Donna Jones Morris says it was a very difficult decision to make.
“I have to say, I’m very sorry to see it go because I know that there were clients who listened to this and who enjoyed it,” Morris says. “But the numbers have decreased, and we’re definitely into return on investment. And this particular service, the return on investment has not been as much as it was in the past.”
