These are the poems:

1st POEM
`Camouflaging The Chimera`

We tied branches to our helmets.
We painted our faces & rifles
with mud from a riverbank,

blades of grass hung from the pockets
of our tiger suits. We wove
ourselves into the terrain,
content to be a hummingbirds target.

We hugged bamboo & leaned
against a breeze off the river,
slow-dragging with ghosts

from Saigon to Bangkok,
with women left in doorways
reaching in from America.
We aimed at dark-hearted songbirds.

In our way station of shadows
rock apes tried to blow our cover
throwing stones at the sunset. Chameleons

crawled our spines, changing from day
to night: green to gold,
gold to black. But we waited
till the moon touched metal,

till something almost broke
inside us. VC struggled
with the hillside, like black silk

wrestling iron through grass.
We werent there. The river ran
through our bones. Small animals took refuge
against our bodies; we held our breath,

ready to spring the L-shaped
ambush, as a world revolved
under each mans eyelid

2nd Poem
`Deciding`
We went to the office every day.
Though the situation was critical,
people at work said nothing.
Province Chiefs were running.
We told the Big Boss our country would be lost.
We told him we would blow ourselves up
if we could not leave.

I sat at my desk doing the financial report.
My thoughts went round and round.

Should I leave?
Should I go alone?
Should I take my mother?
She did not want to go.
She feared they wouldnt let her chew the betel.
Should I leave my children?
How would I make a living?
What would happen when the communists came?

When I made up my mind,
pictures of my childhood floated to the surface
as clear and strong as dreams.

Our old house in Handong.
The bamboo in the backyard.
We ate the shoots.
The soldiers made a fence from the stalks.
My sister and I painted the fence
first white, then blue, then her favorite yellow.
The small antigonon vine we planted
with its pink blossoms in spring.

Our ponds.
The many steps down
to the small bridge
where wed sit hour after hour
letting our hands dip into the water
trying to catch the silver-brown fish.

Airplanes bombing
running from our house
people dying, people calling from outside the walls
dont take me.Im not dead yet.
The family hiding together in our house in cholon
sunlight coming through the bullet holes.

3RD POEM
`At the Justice Department November15,1969`
Brown gas-fog,white
beneath the street lamps.
Cut off on three sides, all space filled
with our bodies.
Bodies that stumble
in brown airlessness,whitined
in light ,a mildew glare,
that stumble
hand in hand,blinded,retching.
Wanting it, wanting
to be here, the body believing its
dying in its nausea,my head
clear in its despair,a kind of joy,
knowing this is by no means death,
is trivial,an incident,a
fragile instant. Wanting it,wanting
with all my hunger this anguish,
this knowing in the body
the grim odds were
up against,wanting it real
up that bank where gas
curled in the ivy, dragging each other
up,strangers,brothers
and sisters. Nothing
will do but
to taste the bitter
taste.No life
other,apart from.

I'm a freshman in high school. Can you help me edit my story?

the plot can't be changed too much because the way i made this story was the teacher asked the class like twenty questions to make a story. can you help me edit it and make it better.

Elizabeth stood in the dark at the side of the deserted road next to her wrecked car. She had crashed into a big tree on her way from her friend’s birthday party. She was fine, but her cell phone did not work. She knew her friend that was at the party was driving in the same direction as her so she waited for him to pass by. While she stood there waiting in the cold, she suddenly heard a rustling noise coming from a bush in front of her. She slowly crept over to find what the noise was, but she was relieved to see only a small squirrel run out. She stood by her car again, waiting.
Finally, after half an hour of waiting had passed, her friend, Jason, came and pulled over to the side of the road in his car. Elizabeth told Jason she felt like someone was following her. Jason told Elizabeth to get into the car because a murderer was following her. Elizabeth was confused and became terrified. Then, out of nowhere a man with an axe came from the bush behind her and told them to do everything he said. They agreed, and the man’s cold hands blinded both of them He brought them into his car, and drove them to an old cabin deep in the woods.
The cabin and all the houses around were abandoned because it was said twenty years earlier a boy had fallen off the roof and died, but he was actually shoved off. The cabin was known to be haunted.
The man with the ax led them inside and made Elizabeth and Jason stay seated in cold metal chairs. The cabin smelled like bitter, metallic blood. The man said he would be right back, and he left the cabin. As the door shut, Jason and Elizabeth took off their blindfolds. They tried to open the door to escape, but it was locked from the outside. They went to all the windows but they had bars on them.
After an hour of trying to figure out what to do, a young boy opened the door and came in. He told them to follow the moose. The boy walked away. Elizabeth and Jason went outside and saw a moose walking, so they followed. After twenty minutes of walking through the woods, Elizabeth and Jason could hear cars, and they followed the noise to a busy highway. The moose walked away, and Jason and Elizabeth both went to a gas station and were able to get help. They each made it home safely. The man with the axe was never found.

Elizabeth stood in the dark at the side of the deserted road next to her wrecked car. She just crashed into a large tree, after leaving her friend’s birthday party. She was fine, but her cell phone did not work. She knew that another friend who attended the party would soon be passing by, so she stood waiting in the cold. Suddenly, she heard a rustling noise coming from a bush in front of her. She slowly crept to find the cause of the noise, but was soon relieved when she saw a small squirrel scamper away.

Finally, after waiting for half an hour, the car of a friend named Jason arrived, and pulled over to the side of the road. Elizabeth told Jason that she felt someone was following her. Jason told Elizabeth to get into his car, because a murderer was after her. Elizabeth was confused, and became terrified. Then, out of nowhere, a man with an axe came from the bush behind her and ordered to obey his every command. They relented, as the man’s cold hands blinded both of them. He ushered them into his car, and drove them to an old cabin deep in the woods.

The cabin and all of the surrounding houses were abandoned. It was alleged that twenty years earlier a boy fell off the cabin roof and died, but he was actually pushed, and the cabin was known to have been haunted since that time.

The man with the axe led them inside, where he arranged for Elizabeth and Jason to stay seated in cold metal chairs. The cabin smelled like bitter, metallic blood. The man said that he would be right back as he left the cabin. After the door shut, Jason and Elizabeth managed to take off the blindfolds that the axe carrier placed over their eyes. They tried to open the door to escape, but it was locked from the outside. They checked every window, but all were covered with bars.

After they had struggled for an hour trying to escape, a young boy opened the door and came in. He told them to follow the moose, then walked away. Elizabeth and Jason went outside and saw a moose, so they followed. After twenty minutes of walking through the woods, Elizabeth and Jason could hear cars, so they tracked the noise to a busy highway. The moose ventured away, while Jason and Elizabeth found a gas station, where they were able to get help. They each made it home safely. The man with the axe was never found.

What do you think of my story??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

where can i add in descriptions?

Elizabeth stood in the dark along side the deserted road, next to her car or what that was left of it. She crashed into an enormous tree on her way home from a birthday party. She fortunately was fine, but her cellphone was not working. She waited for some one to pass by, hopefully from the party. As she was standing there in the cold, she suddenly heard a rustling noise. She turned around to see where it was coming from. It was a nearby bush. She cautiously went over to investigate. A squirrel scurried out and took her by surprise.
After some time of waiting had passed, her friend, Jason, came and pulled over to the side of the road in his car. Elizabeth told Jason she felt like someone was following her. He told her to get into his car because a murderer was following her. Elizabeth was confused and became terrified.

Then, out of nowhere a man with an axe came from the bush behind her and told them to do everything he said. They agreed, and the man’s cold hands blinded both of them. He brought them into his car, and drove them to an old cabin deep in the woods.

The man with the ax led them inside and made Elizabeth and Jason stay seated in cold metal chairs. The cabin smelled like bitter, metallic blood. The old man walked around the room and told a story. The cabin and all the houses around were abandoned because it was said twenty years earlier a boy had fallen off the roof and died, but he was actually shoved off. The place was known to be haunted.

The man said he would be right back, and he left the cabin. As the door shut, Jason and Elizabeth took off their blindfolds. They tried to open the door to escape, but it was locked from the outside. They went to all the windows but they had bars on them.

After an hour of trying to figure out what to do, a young boy entered the cabin and said, "follow the moose." They followed the boy, who led them to the moose. The moose led them to a nearby highway. Jason and Elizabeth both went to a gas station and were able to get help. They each made it home safely. The man with the axe was never found.

Where can you add description? All over!
You say it's a dark, deserted road, but what does it look like? Is there a whole bunch of nothingness around? Flat? Or are there ridges? Trees overgrown the road?
What does she look like? Was she hurt in the accident? What does he look like?

You've TOLD everything. You need to SHOW. Her friend just happens to show up and tell her a murderer is following her? And then "they agree with everything he says" but what does he say?

This whole thing sounds like a synopsis or summary, not an actual story. There is a LOT that needs to be added.

FRESHMAN STORY!!!!!!!!!!! HELP Me EDIT IT and MAKE IT BETTER PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????????????!!!?

the teacher asked the class questions and we had to make a story from it so thats why its random. how can i make it better

Elizabeth stood in the dark along side the deserted road, next to her car or the little that was left of it. She crashed into an enormous tree on her way home from a birthday party.
She fortunately was fine, but her cellphone was not working. She waited for some one to pass by, hopefully from the party. As she was standing there in the cold, she suddenly heard a rustling noise, she turned around to see where it was coming from. It was coming from a nearby bush, she cautiously went over to investigate. A squirrel scurried out and took her by surprise.
She continued to wait and after some time, her friend Jason pulled over. Elizabeth mentioned to Jason that she felt like she was being followed. Jason immediately rushed her to the car, maybe Elizabeth was right. She soon became terrified that some one wanted to kill her.
As Elizabeth and Jason were heading towards his car, somebody grabbed Elizabeth. And before they knew it they were in the back of somebody's car. There was an axe lying on the seat and they were headed toward the woods.
They were guided into and old haunted cabin, that children told stories about. The surrounding cabins were abandoned, but not this one.
Elizabeth and Jason were seated in cold metal chairs. The cabin smelled of bitter, metallic blood. The windows were barred and the doors were locked. The man left, but who knows for how long.
After an hour a young boy entered the cabin and said, "follow the moose." They followed the boy, who led them to the moose. The moose led them to a near highway. They never found the man with the axe.

  • Helping hand for blind and visually impaired

Everyday tasks such as telling the time or filling a cup of tea come as second nature to most residents.

But for the many visually impaired and blind people in Heywood, it can be very difficult to undertake the simple ventures faced on a daily basis.

Now, Heywood Social Centre for the Blind, on Starkey Street, is starting to supply a number of gadgets designed to help visually impaired people to overcome any difficulties caused by using equipment designed for sighted people.

For the first time, items such as talking clocks and watches will be stocked through the charity. Previously, residents had to travel to other towns or contact the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) to acquire such items.
