Tactual Dominoes for the Blind Game (part 1/2)

Student from Grenada's Resource Centre for the Blind plays tactual dominoes with her instructor. Dominoes are made from an existing cardboard ...

CLAPTON fans, what is your favorite music period of ERIC? In order, if several?

For me
1. Cream
2. Derek & The Dominoes
3. Blind Faith
4. Delaney & Bonnie & Friends
5. John Mayall Blues Breakers
6. early solo work
7. recent blues work
8. his country period

My, you certainly do seem to know your Clapton history, don't you??!

You DID, however, leave out at least ONE very important phase of his musical evolution: the YARDBIRDS!!!!! They were a very influencial force in early British blues-rock, way ahead of their time.

Clapton made LOTS of great music, both as a solo artist and as a band member. My personal favorite song of his, ever? That would be
"BELL BOTTOM BLUES"!!!

Music Madness! (1) Eric Clapton vs. (4) Aerosmith?

Cast your votes for Music Madness - the single elimination championship. Your choice should be for who you feel personally is the best, not who is the most popular. The entire bracket can be viewed at www.AnthemDJ.com. I'm so glad everbody is enjoying this. I love doing it.

Sweet Sixteen - South Bracket
Aerosmith - they were big, disapeared for awhile, and then came back just as strong if not stronger. It's hard to say which is their best album, but Pump is a good one to check out. They've beat other popular artists like Dave Matthews and Eminem, so it's not unlikely that they'll do well now.
Eric Clapton - slowhand is one of the most talented guitarists ever. Cream, Blind Faith, and Derek & the Dominos are all legendary bands. He'd be amazing even if you didn't count his incredibly sucessful solo career as well. 451 Ocean Blvd - great album. Great enough to beat those Boston boys?
Make your choice now!

Oh that is a hard one, because I like them both, but if I have to choose,I pick AEROSMITH!!!

Eric Clapton...?

what's his best stuff?
yardbirds?
blind faith?
cream?
derek and the dominoes?
solo...?
what do you think is/was his best era for songs...? do you have a favorite song or era?

The guy can't come up with a bad song. I didn't think cradle to the grave was his best album, but motherless child was good. I liked unplugged because it was like songs you knew, but just a different spin. alberta alberta was incredible on that album.

Who was Clapton best with?

I think Clapton was very, very good with Derek and The Domino's because thats one of my favorite albums. Duane Allmans slide on Layla is phenomenal and Thorn Tree in The Garden, Bell Bottom Blues and one of my favorite top ten songs Little Wing are very great songs. DONT SAY ERIC CLAPTON SOLO cause that is like a long time!
I will list them all for you to remember
-Yarbirds
-Blues breakers
-Cream
-Blind Faith
- Delaney and Bonnie and Friends
-Derek and The Domino's
yeah i know hes been in a lot of bands

I have to go with Derek and The Domino's. I think Clapton plays better when he is being pushed by a talent such as Allman. It's hard to believe he could make such a great album being strung out on heroin. It would have been nice to see where Allman's career would have gone had he not died.

  • Hearing Sparks: Are You Awake Enough to Read this Braille Article?

Good morning. I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. Where I'm at it's still a bit early in the morning. When this Scientific American article on Braille displays used to read text on the Web came up in my RSS subscription, I admit I had to read it a couple times over to understand what they're going on about. I should probably head back to bed, or make myself some coffee. Seriously though, this stuff is pretty cool. We folks who have trouble hearing need captions on our videos, but most of the entire Web is inaccessible to the blind. There are currently readers for the Web that many blind people use. They read Braille output of text on the Web using "a touchable row of finger-sized rectangular...
