How far down the path do you have to be before you stop obeying the commands of other men, claiming to know the will of God? Does it stop at murder? War? Genocide? When do you look for yourself at your own actions? Blind obedience is not faith.
I believe everyone reaches that point at different stages of their life and that some never do reach that stage at all. We only do so when our reality is ready for it.
My parents are both christians but of different denominations - my mother a Baptist and my father a Methodist. The one thing both taught me from a young age is that I am responsible for the actions I undertake so I need to do so with care not only for myself but also for others. I was raised with an awareness that with life comes great responsibility not only towards oneself but to ones fellow human beings; so given that I reached that point very early in life.

in last nights no limit holdem poker tournament i made it into the last 60 players of 400. average stack around 10k
my stack was 4200 and i held K(c) Q(c) in early-middle position. 200-400 blinds.
action folds to me and i guess i can limp and go all in if i hit top pair on the flop.
i limp one player in late position limps. all fold to big blind, big blind checks it down. pot is 1400
flop is K(s) 7(s) 9(d).
big blind bets out 800 and i reraise all-in 3800 feeling im in front.
but late position reraises all-in 7000 and big blind calls.
late position shows 10(h) 8(h) for the open ended straight draw.
big blind shows A(s) 5(s) for nuts spade flush draw.
turn is a 3(h). I'm still in front.
river is A(d). I lose and am out of the tournament.
was this the right play?
if not, please advise
It wasn't correct.
You should of raised preflop, 10-8 would of folded and BB will call. If BB bets the flop you have to evaluate the situation to put him on a range of hands.
He called you pre-flop...you have no idea what he has, he could have anything. He bets a K high flush drawing flop and bets 4/5 of the pot (a good solid bet), I wouldn't re-raise here, I'd call.
I'd re-raise any bet on the turn. He only has 1 chance left to hit an A or a flush and I would be confident I would be ahead if I didn't know what he had. He has 22% chance of hitting an out as opposed to being on 44% on the flop. An all in bet on the turn would of gotten him to fold.

people say you need to take physical action for the law of attraction. then people all around the world saying they can change things like cure eye sight and even make eye sight come back if you are blind. they say on the secret I have seen kidneys regenerated and eye sight come back then how did they take action to make there eye sight come back if they were blind, there is no action for that if your blind your blind and there is no cure for it.
Sometimes yes, sometimes no. The Law of Attraction involves knowing what to ask for and to be willing to follow whatever path opens up for you. I'm certain that the LoA can cure blindness or heal the body, and that in some cases it may take physical action to initiate that cure or healing. In some cases, it may not.
I do know, however, that you don't need some nonsensical 'key report' on the Law of Attraction.

Been together 10 yrs, my wife is very passive, avoids any issues, and has always denied any fault in any aspect of our marriage. I ve worked very hard to take care of her and the kids, shes a stay at home mom (her request) and ive set her up with property and horses which is her passion. I drive 1 hour to work one way to allow this. The lack of communication, abscense of intimacy and other things put me over the edge and for years has been building up. I tried talking about it but received extreme defensiveness. Im in a dangerous job where concentration is key and wasnt able anymore, I left to clr my head, put my kids in a better environment and she moved on like she didnt care, I thought it might wake her up but her true priorities actually came out. I always wanted to save the marriage, but I dont know how when I am on earth and she appears to be on Pluto. I had to almost force her to agree to counsling. I think she cares, good person mom and all, but refuses to take action on things... anybody seen this crazyness before? This is only half of it, granted Im no perfect man, but I have openly confessed to my mistakes and taken action on them....Ive been loyal, and always tried to keep things positive, but a guy can only have so much on his plate without the better half even taking concnern. I m baffled why someone would let things go so far.
Welcome to the NEW Independent American woman. Guys all over are having the same issue as you. It is a new phenomenon. They tell me it was brought on by the fact that modern women saw their moms be mentally abused by their jerk dads and not amount to anything so this is a way for them to avoid that scenario and "TAKE THEIR POWER BACK" that is actually a counseling term sociologists use to counsel young women today.
Here's what you do to combat this nonsense... GET A GIRLFRIEND! Trust me it works!
I live and work in China and I am married to a Chinese. The people whom I work closely with on a daily basis are really great and I am generally happy to interact with them. The majority of people in the greater population, I can't stand.
Sorry to offend so many Chinese, however, from my experience, I feel that China is simply culturally inferior to most Western countries. Please don't go hurling that "well nobody's perfect" line of argument towards me. I didn't say the West was perfect or even close to it, all I am saying is that Chinese culture is much more 'less perfect' than Western culture. Here is why:
1. People are just crazy-selfish and have absolutely no sense of 'the greater good'. They are only looking out for 'me and mine', the rest can go f*ck themselves. This attitude is most evident with the plethora of product-safety scandals that have rocked the country. The latest being melamine milk that's killing babies and giving many of them kidney stones. In this instance it was 100% clear that these milk suppliers were *purposely* providing tainted milk so they could water it down and still pass the test for high protein levels. Pure evil, IMO.
This is what drives the culture of corruption so evident here. For another example, just take a look at all the disproportionate number of schools that collapsed during the Sichuan earthquakes. This is because building inspectors accepted bribes from greedy contractors instead of doing their job. The result, your child is dead.
2. Purposely vague, dodge responsability. Most Chinese I interact with who haven't had a Western education or who are not my direct reports tend to dodge responsability. It is a task trying to get a straightforward clear answer from people. This is *not* a language issue as I am fairly fluent in Mandarin, and this also happens with people who are fairly fluent in English. People here just don't want to be held accountable for their (in)actions.
3. Blind adherence to authority. Absolutely no questioning or criticism of anyone higher in the authority chain. This is in line with their top-down, Oligarchical style of government. This also affects Chinese corporate culture and makes for very inefficient or just plain wrong internal management. People just don't feel free to bring up points of conflict or challenge anyone higher up in the company. I just don't see how China will ever be a leader in innovation if the culture remains this way. This is also how the Chinese family is run. What the eldermost male in the family says, goes, no ifs ands or buts. If you don't like you, you will be excommunicated from the family. Everything if made a 'Family Decision', including who you marry and what job you do for the rest of your life. Some people say Chinese families are very strong, and they are, I envy their solidarity, however there is a huge down side to this unity.
4. Absolute disregard for their environment and those around them. This is the reason for all the spitting, p*ssing and indeed sh*tting (I've actually witnessed this) whereever they want. It's absolutely revolting and I can't even comprehend how human beings, no matter how uneducated, can do this. I have seen people encourage their children to urinate on the floor right next to the table they are eating at instead of bringing them to the bathroom. I have seen someone in broad daylight on a busy street in front of a convenience store squat and take a dump. I mean, even domesticated animals know not to do this!
Also the point about driving is true. Chinese, for some reason, all over the world, in their home country or not, drive like absolute maniacs. People have zero regard for basic traffic safety regulations or other people who are on the road. They also incessantly honk their horns at everything and often even at nothing. I am constantly being shocked by people honking their f*cking horns, it makes me crazy it does.
5. Arrogance and naivety. People here are so brainwashed by the government and are shielded from a lot of the negative stories that would have been broadcast about domestic issues. The result is that people rarely critisize the government and have this fantastic idea that Chinese people are somehow fundamentally more morally-sound than foreigners. If a Chinese hears about a violent rape or murder or some such evil crime happening in the West, they will say "Oh yes, foreigners are this way." and asked if Chinese do the same things say "No, Chinese wouldn't do such a thing." Also about political issues people just can't accept reality. They all consider Taiwan a part of China, despite the fact that Beijing has not a shred of control over the island. Don't even try to argue with them about it, they don't value logic and reason as useful for arriving at the truth.
Wow that was a lot, glad I finally got it off my chest... btw, I could make another list about American's if you want (primarily those that live in the 'red' states). It's not that I am
I am Chinese American and have lived in China for seven years. I do not feel offended in anyway, as I consider myself American. However, I have to agree with you. I hate living in China and dislike the people. I find them rude, ignorant, dirty, and have poor hygiene and respect for rules. The people are brainwashed- I cannot believe they still believe Mao is good. They tend to be narrow minded considering issues such as Tibet, Taiwan, and Japan. I absolutely agree with everything you say.
I witnessed a boy urinating on the ground at an outdoor restaurant. Chinese people spit everywhere and don't clean up after their dogs (or themselves). The bathrooms are disgusting, and even the bathrooms in nice restaurants tend to smell. There is no regard for traffic rules.
I believe that even though China is becoming industrialized now, people will find it hard to respect China if the Chinese people continue to act this way.

The Blind Side Shows Faith in Action ,
) tells the true story Michael Oher ( Quinton Aaron ), a gentle hulk of a boy who, through some string-pulling by concerned relatives, gains admission to the same Christian school the Tuohy children attend in Memphis. His IQ of 80 and grade point average of 0.6 present obvious challenges for his teachers and his unwillingness to do any homework is jeopardizing his future at the school.
His one hope, in the eyes of the school, is football—although Oher never has played the game. It's the school's football coach ( Ray McKinnon ) who, after one look at Oher, makes it his mission to develop Oher into a star athlete.
