The computer itself doesn't talk, special software does--Jaws and Window-Eyes are the two major products. Any computer that has their hardware requirements will work, so you can buy a computer through any reputable dealer.

Is the invention of Braille an innovation of history?
Oct 08 2011 028

I have to do the Rhode Island National History Day thing and the theme this year is Innovation in History: Impact and Change. And I was wondering whether or not the invention of Braille would be considered an appropriate topic for the subject. I have never done History Day before, so could someone that knows what I am talking about please explain it to me and tell me if my idea would be considered "okay?"

It gave people who couldn't see the ability to read with their fingers. I'd say that would be quite the innovation.

If you can't find anything that originated in Ri, I'd say it wold be a very nice choice. I'd listen to the report. :)
