What us with the Braille signs?

OK question here....... Why is it that on every hotel door and restroom is there a Braille signs. I mean dont they first have to find the Braille sign in order to read it. Just an off the wall question.

Not all visually impaired people are totallly blind. They may be able to see a sign, but not be able to read it. But they can certainly Braille it.

How do blind people know where there is braille writing in public places?

For example, the words "men" and "women" are often printed in braille outside the doors of public restrooms. But how would blind people know that there was braille written right there?

In the United States, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) sets standards for accessible design. There is a rather large document at this site http://www.usdoj.gov/crt/ada/stdspdf.htm that gives the ADA Standards for Accessible Design. In public buildings, the location of signage, design of bathrooms and water coolers, doorways, etc., etc., etc. are all governed by accessibility standards that put things like signs in a particular location. Where to seek access to braille signage is something that all schools for the blind teach.

What is there braille in front of public restrooms? Can you just ask someone? If you're alone,no one will notice

Correction: Why is there braille in front of public restrooms?

If you had to rely on there being Braille in different locations, and wanted to be independent and not have to ask someone and hope that there is someone who is willing to stop at help you, then I bet you wouldn't ask such a ridiculous question. Why shouldn't there be?

How does the blind know where to go in a public building to find the restrooms? ?

If you ever notice the signs on the restroom doors are in braille.

blind people are people just the same as you or i. just because they are blind doesnt mean that they should live life in solitary. ive had many a blind person ask where the restrooms are. i usually have them put their hand on my shoulder and lead them to the facilities.

I'm soooooooooooo confused. IF ANYONE CAN ANSWER ALL OF THESE THEN I'LL GIVE THEM 10 POINTS AND WILL LOVE THEM FOREVER EVEN THOUGH I DON'T KNOW THEM. THANKS.

These are so fun! Sure they take a lot of brain power, but even if you can't guess them right they are still fun to guess.

1. Probably because the constructors put it there not knowing that the store that would be there is open 24/7.
2. More than likely, no.
3. I'm pretty sure Holy and Roman are are 2 titles, like Colonel or Sergeant.
4. IF they were real, I'm pretty sure they would =]
5. Then either the cat falls and lands on its back, or the bread just gets unlucky I'm guessing.
6. Good question, my guess would be no.
7. Maybe I'm just a blonde, but I don't get this question whatsoever.
8. Because it is all fake. It can take days to record one episode. But I bet people already knew this. =]
9. I was wondering the same thing!!!!
10. I've googled it, and still don't know this one. lol
11. Yes, it actually does. Because if you expect the unexpected, then the unexpected is expected. Same thing in inverted order.
12. Yes, fat chance being that your chance is probably more than likely not going to happen, and slim chance is like no chance at all.
13. Haha whoever thought up this is good! I couldn't answer it if I tried.
14. This is going to be confusing to answer, but yes it will be no. Because if you say yes, then it will be no. If you answer no, then it's automatically no.

This was fun =]
