Braille Car

She could easily learn the alphabet and how to read basic things. Depending on how bright the person is and how sensitive her fingers are and how hard she worked, I don't see why not.

Braille is written language for the blind using a series of raised dots in sequenced combinations to produce letters that can be felt as the finger is moved across them. ATM machines are for people to withdraw and deposit money in their bank accounts. A drive up ATM machine is one that can be accessed from outside by driving your car up next to it and rolling down your window to use it. Since blind people do not drive, why are brail dots on these ATM machines?

I have been asking the same questions my entire life!

Besides the fact a blind person shouldn't be behind the wheel... how are they going to answer the questions, like "Which account" and "would you like a receipt for this transaction" or better yet, " English or Spanish?"

Do they really expect a blind person to be driving a car?

Because it is easier and cheaper to use the same keyboard for drive-up and walk-up ATMs, and the walk-ups must have Braille to accommodate the blind. So instead of making a keyboard with Braille only for walk-ups and one without Braille for drive-ups, each manufacturer makes one keyboard that is used for both.

Why do they put braille dots on the keypad of the drive-up ATM.?

Why do we drive on parkways and park on driveways?

Why is it that when you transport something by car, it's called a shipment, but when you transport something by ship, it's called a cargo?

Why is it that when you're driving and looking for an address, you turn down the volume on the radio?

Why are hot dogs sold in packages of six, but hot dog buns in packages of ten?

All ATM's come from the same...mold..you could say..
so All ATMs are the same.. dots and all.. if they are put on drive throughs.. or outside banks/stores... It makes no difference

Is that really the safest place for a blind person to be? What if a blind guy is just walking around and happens to find the ATM and starts using it, and then a car comes and then, BAM!

BELIEVE OR NOT! PEOPLE WHO ARE ALMOST BLIND CAN LEGALLY DRIVE! You can still drive with 20/200 vision! That means they probably can't read the small numbers on the ATM machine so they need the braille. Scary stuff but very true look it up. I saw it looking up requirements for handicap stickers!
