Is the American White/Yellow pages available printed in Braille? What is the different between the white and yellow anyway? (in the UK we only have yellow)

White pages are individuals, Yellow are businesses.

No a telephone book in Braille would fill a room - totally impractical. Which is why people who are Blind have always been given free telephone directory service.

European money has diffrent sizes for different amounts and even braille on their currency. Aren't we behind in the times?Blind need to see their money too.

I know, I used to work in foreign exchange. I thought Netherlands money was so cool because it was not only different sizes for different denominations, but also different colors and it had different amounts of raised dots. How easy for the visually impaired!

my mam is fully blind and i want to learn braille. can i use a website ? oh and how long should it take? and is american braille the same is irish braille? pleease help!

I dont think Irish braille would be the same as English braille. It would take a year or more to learn Grade A which is the simplest. Its really challenging and you will get very fustrated along the way but it will be benificial in the end.

I want to work with blind children in India after I graduate from college, at least for a few years. I want to teach them Braille and O&M and stuff like that. I know I can take Hindi classes in college when I get there, but where can I learn Bharati Braille (the braille code used for all Indian languages)? Are there any organizations that teach it, or should I look for a private tutor, and not expect to find any sort of structured class in the U.S. (I'm in North Carolina, will be attending North Carolina State University in Raleigh)?

It sounds pretty simple, basically like American Braille, but with more vowels and consonants and different rules...same punctuation andnumbers, I read, so that I know at least.

Anyone know about this Braille script? I want to at least have a way to transcribe it on hand for this summer's project...I am going to be doing a lot of Brailling, but I want to make sure it's in the right Braille script that they can understand it!
