i personally find it easier to read a book myself. some tips that you might find useful for doing so would be...
-take notes on what you are reading so you can keep yourself paying attention.
-take it slow, and try to relate to what you are reading.
-after each chapter you read, discuss it with friends; this makes some boring things seem funny.
