Does anyone have experience with this or know the process of becoming the vocal talent for audio books?
I think you have to sign up with a talent agent.

Not a lot if they're not famous.
If it's a well known actor with a good voice, they probably get paid quite a bit, depending what sort of contract their agent gets them.
If you are not a well known actor, figure the pay is better for flipping burgers.
I know of sony and amazon. I want one with the e ink technology and also backlight. Listening to audio books would be neat too.

Personally speaking, I am still using my Dell Pocket PC that I bought 5 years ago when I first discovered ebooks. When it breaks, I guess I'll have to decide what to do next. However, I want a PDA that serves multiple purposes like my current one.

The Reader is about one man and his relationship with a woman. When he was in High School, 15-year-old Michael had hepatitis. When he was coming home from school one day he became sick and 36-year-old Hanna helped him get cleaned up. After that he was diagnosed and spent months recovering. When he was well again, he went over to her apartment to thank her. He began to realize that he was attracted to her, maybe even fell in love with her. They began to have a relationship. A few months later, Hanna disappears. Michael moves on with his life but he never can forget her. While in college, one of his seminars is about a trial going on in a nearby town of some female Nazi guards. They are encouraged to go to the trial at least once a week. He went to the beginning of the trial and ended up going every single day. Hanna is one of the women on trial. During the trial it becomes obvious that she is desperately keeping a secret.
