I enjoy listening to self improvement audio books in my car while I drive. To give you an idea of the type of audio programs I like, my favorites are The Now Habit, the Rich Dad series, a couple from Brian Tracy, Goals (by Zig Ziglar), The Power of Positive Thinking, etc.
Do you have any suggestions for good audio books?
I like Brian Tracy`s Eat that frog. a couple from Brian tracy do you mean several audio books by Tracy or is it the name of the audio book?
I find myself wasting a lot of time on various dating sites trying to meet women but they’re never interested. I’ve also tried meeting women in person but they are never interested. At this point in my life I don’t care anymore. I need to keep my mind on other more important things. I’m 29 year old male and a successful entrepreneur. I have other plans for various business ventures but need to keep my mind focused and direct my energy into achieving my goals instead of wasting my time on something that seems impossible.
Can anyone recommend some books or audio books on this topic? Maybe something on taking control of the subconscious, or learning how to control the mind?
Please, please, please, I’m not looking for relationship advice, or a pat on the back or sympathy. I seriously just want to learn how to shut off my libido for now.
Do what they did on family guy with quagmire. But you will need some Friends to help with this one.
This summer one of my main goals is to learn french, since I am alreadyfluent in both English and Spanish. Does anyone have books or audio reccomendations? I have so far been using the internet as my main resource.
Go to your library, and borrow a french language course. It's free, and its the best way to ensure you learn the language the right way. I speak French, and its a beautiful language.
I ask this question because the sentiment is true. Our educational process is seriously defunct in so many ways. It is pathetic. We have reduced education to be some ridiculous silly little game. Students KNOW this but are not supposed to admit that they know it. ALL education should have true and direct value and benefit to the student and to their ultimate goals ...otherwise it is time wasted. Valuable time.
I hate the fact that 2nd grade teachers wasted my time teaching me French which I had/have NO use for. 12th grade biology teachers wasted an entire semester teaching me about plants and another teaching about atoms and the molecular structure. I completely memorized the atomic chart ...Completely useless stuff ...for ME.
I've taught myself Computer Programming; Graphic Arts; Corporate Law; Speed Reading; Web Design; Book Publishing; Audio Production; Spanish; Forex Trading; Psychology of Combat; Commodities Investing; etc. I am very successful today as a direct result of my independent research and self-education so yes... I believe in education. It is fundamental to life success but our educational system is inadequate and ...again, WASTES a lot of precious time in both elementary school, high school AND college because it subjects students to rote memory expectations rather than truly challenges them with relevant and applicable knowledge.
I say ask yourself this simple question about every aspect of your education: HOW will this knowledge ...once I fully grasp it actually BENEFIT me in my life? ...and... WHAT will be the negative consequence on my life if I don't get it or forget it after I've passed the class (as most students will).
Because no matter how many times you post this rant, most of college is not a waste of time. Are a few people wasting their time? Sure. Are most of us? Nope. College sounds like a waste of time for you personally. That does not apply to everyone. And self-study in most topics won't get you a job. You need some proof you actually learned something. Just try self-studying medicine or astrophysics and see where that gets you.

Do you have tasks on hand that you are reluctant to do or it took a lot of your time before it is completed? Recently, I have been listening to an audio book called The Power of Less by Leo Babauta which teaches how to use the method of focusing on one goal to be more effective in achieving our goals.
One of the techniques called breaking down your task into simplest form which I have tried personally is quite useful for me. I have been trying to complete a task that I have been dragging for quite some time to finish in order to achieve my 1 year goal of creating a 4 figure online monthly income this year. Sometimes, although you know the importance of the tasks, you will still feel intimidated or relunctant to complete the tasks due to a cut in motivation when the task process takes a long time and lots of things to do in order to complete. However, after listening to the audio book, I have realized the real problem is the motivation and momentum of completing the task in order to achieve the goal. What is suggested by the author of The Power of Less is to try to figure out what is needed in order for us to achieve our goal or complete our task by listing them down one by one. After that, we have to start choosing the simplest thing on the list to do to get ourselves more motivated to do more as we have the tendency to continue our task once we start to build the momentum from the first step we took.
