I need to read it as a summer reading book for the summer and i have a hard time understanding what i read so i would like an audio book. thank you
Check with your public library. They have lots of audio books. They may also have access to an on-line library where you can download it (Kansas has such a library).

where can i find a free audio book for the lightning theif by Rick Riordan?
Try your local library. Many have lots of books available for download if you have library card. However it may not yet be available in downloadable format.
I am reading the lightning thief and it is so long (well to me it is) i am a really slow reader so would i comprehend it better if i read it?
Why not try listening to the audio version while following along with your copy? You will be twice as likely to retain the material.
I am looking for the audio book for free and i dont have access to limewire or things like that.... please help!
I usually download stuff like that from the internet using torrents, but you need a downloading agent like uTorrent or Limewire. I would suggest downloading uTorrent and then doind a Google search entitled: the Tale of the Body Thief torrent. If that's too vague, add "audio" in the search engine and see what you get.
Honestly though, if you can't download it from the computer, then I would go to the local library and ask if they have it. You can order it from another library if you want it badly enough. And maybe look around youtube for the audio clips, or do a search for a site that hosts audio clips for free on the internet. Personally, I found my copy in a junk store, so I didn't need to get the audio or ebook version.
I listened to the audio book and loved it, and now I want to do an illustration of the kids walking to the basilica to meet the Conte (sp?) but I don't want to listen to the whole thing again and the movie didn't exactly stay true to the descriptions. I can only remember bits and pieces so if someone is familiar with them and what they looked like that day (for example Bo's hair was dyed at that point) I'd be very appreciative.

Upsidedown Bee: Book Review: The Book Thief (Audio)
Was marketed as a Young Adult book but we all agreed that the content was really too much for a child. The book is narrated by Death just for beginners. So, as I was frantically grabbing audio books from the children's section at our public library in preparation of mine and Mary's driving trip to Louisiana, I was somewhat surprised to see Set in Nazi Germany, narrated by Death, it is 9-year-old Liesel Meminger's story. Death watches as she steals the first of 14 books at her brother's funeral, sensing they will feed her soul even before she knows how to read. Allan Corduner gives Death a strong personality with a dispassionate voice that will grip the listener; by turns sardonic, compassionate,...
