When is the caged bird mentioned in the book, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou?
Flamingo

I'm not sure if there is a quote actually talking about a caged bird in the book. If you know where (what chapter) it is in- could u tell me-and possibly provide the quote-it would be really helpful
Thank You
sry i posted my question twice but didnt add this part on this one
are there any other symbols from the book that could be used to represent or describe maya?

As far as I know, there is no mention of a caged bird in the book I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings. The book's title is taken from a poem by Paul Laurence Dunbar. Angelou uses the metaphor of a bird struggling to escape its cage as a central image throughout the book, which consists of "a sequence of lessons about resisting racist oppression".

I just hope they don't take over the world.

im looking for an old fairytale picture.. a bird in tree talking to possibly a little girl or woman.?

its an older fairytale. Short story type book with some pictures in it. possibly from a set of books. The picture im looking for is a bird in a tree and it is possibly talking to someone on the ground

reminds me of the tale "The Nightingale" by Hans Christian Andersen

Where in the book To Kill a Mocking bird does it talk about the half black and half white people?

Mel's right - Mr. Dolphus Raymond is married to a "colored woman" and has mixed children, much to Scout's bafflement. Mr. Raymond is important because of his lack of prejudice in Maycomb, where almost everyone is prejudiced (except for a choice few, like Atticus or Miss Maudie, for example).

I just thought I'd add that my English teacher also pointed out the snowman as important in the white-black comparison. Remember how Jem makes a mudman first, then coats it with snow? There are several ways of interpreting it . . . the most common involves the name - something to do with it being a hermaphrodite - and the combination of colors. The hermaphrodite part apparently summarizes the mix of the two culture. The mud under snow implies that black people are forced to submit to white culture.

There are other ways to interpret it; it's a good object to analyze. I just thought I'd mention it. Sorry I'm not more help, but I was notorious for falling asleep in classes.

what is the name of a children's science fiction chapter book with boy/girl and parrot?

what is the name of a children's science fiction chapter book about a young boy/girl who is friends with a talking bird (parrot?). They travel to a distant planet and either save that planet or escape from it somehow. The words Time and dream come to mind.

Not sure this is what you're looking for but the only thing I can think of is a book my daughter had, actually it was 3 books in one.....so I don't know which one of them had the bird in it. They were by Diane Duane. The 3 books are: So you want to be a Wizard, Deep Wizardry, and High Wizardry.

What is a good book about birds? I am curious about their sounds and what they are talking about.?

A good bird-watcher's handbook is Peterson Field guides, there's an Eastern one and a Western one.
And this website is LOADED with great information, including clips of bird songs:
