George Orwell's "Animal Farm" is a historical allegory and satire. That means that it is a piece of fiction that tells a story which parallels a historical event. In this case the story is about the Russian Revolution. You need to know a bit about that period of history in Russia to get a good idea of the importance of the characters (Farmer Jones, Napoleon, Molly, etc.) and their actions. Read a little about the revolution and read the novel and I think you will recognize the parallels. Good luck. "Animal Farm" is not just a kid's book where animals talk. It's a real thinker!

My group and I are writing a children's book for Spanish class. It's a school project. My question is:
In a Spanish children's book that has talking animals, would you use the personal "a" with those characters when the animals are the direct objects. I was thinking it would be used because the animals have been "personified" with characteristics like those of humans. If somebody could answer this question, that'd be great.
Okay. The story is basically pigs and wolves. An example would be "Los lobos torturaron a los cerdos."

I'm not sure I understand your question, but let me try by giving you two sentences using 'a' and the feminine form of an animal, like this:

Un cerdo le dió a una coneja un ramo de flores.
A la coneja le gustó tanto que se lo comió.
