Why is the Terry Pratchett Discworld book "Eric" not available in the new black cover?

I have recently started reading the Discworld series of books and have bought all the books with the new black covers. I haven't been able to find "Eric" with the new cover although subsequent books have the black cover (even the audio CD has the new cover).
I am currently reading "Guards! guards!" so I need help quick!!

Um, my husband reads Pratchett and I was curious, so I checked a few places and not a single one of them has his books with black covers (a couple have black backgrounds though). I even went to the publisher's website to take a look and they show the same covers that I saw in other sites. Good luck finding it.

Good audio book to listen?

Can someone reccomend me a good audio book to listen? I like books from , J.K.R., Terry Pratchett, Stephenie Meyer, Wilbur Smith, Garth Nix, Eoin Colfer... And I´ve learnt English for 8 years so the narrator of the book shouldn´t talk very very quickly and unintelligible, e.g. The Host by S.Meyer was really comfortable for listening.

The Harry Potter books narrated by Jim Dale and the Terry Pratchett audio books are very entertaining and well done, but they do have a lot of accents/dialects in them. If you have trouble with accents, then you might want to start somewhere else.

Most of the audio books I have listened to are fairly well done, so you shouldn't have too many problems with most books narrated in English, unless you get into some really heavy sci-fi books or books that have a lot of slang, like A Clockwork Orange.

Stick to books by authors you know and books you have read at first to get used to listening to audio books. Then you should be able to handle most audio books.

I have heard all the Harry Potter books and I am about half-way through the Terry Pratchett audio books, and can recommend those if you don't have problems with accents.

If you like action/thriller/mystery types of books, then I can recommend the audio versions of books by James Patterson, John Grisham, Clive Cussler, Patricia Cornwell, Dean Koontz (one of my favorites), Dan Brown, Matthew Reilly and too many more that I can't think of right now.

It's a little more difficult to find sci-fi titles in audio books, but you can usually find The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings on CD. Other good authors in this category include Douglas Adams, Piers Anthony, Anne McCaffrey, Larry Niven, David Weber and Harry Turtledove. These may be harder to find, but are well worth the search.

Start at your local library - most carry a selection of audio books, and some even have them available for download. This will save you a little money as you figure out which books and/or narrators you like.

And always try to get the unabridged version whenever possible. Some books are only released in abridged versions on audio, so you might not be able to get the whole version, but they seem to cut out a lot of the book.

Recommend Me an Audio book?

Lately, I have been to busy to read and have been listening to audio books instead, however the books I would like to listen to are not in that format. I like Terry Pratchett based things and have been sticking to him, Bill Bryson and Douglas Adams for audio books.

Any suggestions? ^^;
Thanks for reading ♥

I like to use a free website called YAKiToMe! http://www.yakitome.com that turns any electronic text into an audio book. It reads aloud PDF, txt, MS Word documents, html webpages, Powerpoint, RSS feeds, email, ... you name it. Turns the text into an audio mp3 that you can podcast to your iPod, listen on your computer while you read along, or share with others. It has many high-quality reading voices in different languages, too. I use it to listen to work and free classic books from Project Gutenberg http://www.gutenberg.org.

Help: need weeks worth of Vacation books - suggestions?

I'm facing a week of vacation and need a stack of books to relax with. I love SciFi, adventure, thrillers, but I listen to lots of audio-books during my commute so I'm out of favorites.

Below are my favorites I have already exhausted. Please suggest others/similar:

COMEDY:
Janet Evanovich (Stephanie Plum)
Jasper Fford
Terry Pratchett
Michael Moore
Carl Hiaasen (Some here I have missed)
JK Rowling (of course)

THRILLERS:
Doug Preston / Lincoln Child (Agent Pendergast/Alex Cross/et.al)
Dan Brown
Daniel Silva (But I just saw "The Defector" is out...)
Kathy Reichs
Iris Johanson
Jeffery Deaver

SCI FI / Fant
Jim Butcher (Dresden Files)
Louis McMaster Bujold (Miles Vorgosan)
Michael Crichton (you will be missed)
Greg Isles

AUTHORS & THINGS I AVOID

Koontz, King, Meyer (sorry, I'm not a teen girl), Any book with vampire hunter/demon hunter/Magic hunter/girl with a sword on the cover or in the title.

Short of that - I am open to clever, witty or sarcastic books or series of books including guilty pleasures.

Gimme your favorites please.
Actually I love Steven King - but as someone once joked: "Are you afraid of flying? Just take along a Steven King book. After a few chapters - crashing wont sound so bad!"

I would suggest books by Ted Dekker. He writes thrillers/mysteries. My favorites so far are: "Thr3e," "Skin," and "Boneman's Daughter."

"Thr3e" is the tamest of them all
"Skin" has a huge twist at the end
"Boneman's Daughter" is the most chilling

Good luck!

The main character of Pyramids is Pteppic (pronounced Teppic), prince of the tiny kingdom of Djelibeybi (a pun on Jelly baby, a confection popular in the United Kingdom). Young Teppic has been in training at the Assassins Guild in Ankh-Morpork for several years. The day after passing his final exam he realizes his father has died and he must return home. Being the first Djelibeybian king raised outside the kingdom leads to some interesting problems, particularly when a giant pyramid constructed in honor of Teppic's father twists the dimensions and brings to existence all of the kingdom's gods. It is revealed that in the Discworld universe, large solid pyramid-shaped structures have a tendency...
