Nicholas Sparks Audio Book

Hey everyone, I need some help. I'm thinking about buying an audio book from itunes and I wanted to buy The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks. I'm in the mood for something sappy. =) Anyway, I was wondering if there is a big difference between getting the abridged or unabridged version. I've googled it and all I was given is that abridged audio books are edited down to the bare essentials of the book, meaning only parts of the book that are of value to the story, while an unabridged audio book is the entire book. Help me out! Has anyone compared an unabridged version of a book to an abridged version? Thanks!

I read the book, but I haven't compared them. I believe to get the full range of emotions/feelings you probably need more than just the essentials. I can't think of too many parts that could be cut out as being "non-essential".

Nicholas Spark is not giving his book away for free or the audio book. Anyone that does is stealing. This could earn the person responsible possible jail time and fines of $150,000.

I am afraid you are out of luck. Even though a published work might be in the public domain, audio book versions are under copyright to protect the rights of the publisher and the artists who actually read the books. (Only in very rare cases do the owners offer an entire copyrighted work on the net for free). There is no legal way to read these books for free. If you find something on the web, it will either be someone's fabrication, or it will be pirated, which could land you in trouble if you use it.

I'd either buy (try used book stores if buying new is too rich for you) or borrow at a library. Lots of audio books can be gotten through Inter-library loan.

Next week I am taking a long road trip and I am looking for some entertaining audio books to listen to. I really enjoy books by Jodi Picout and Nicholas Sparks. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I spend a lot of time on the road, and these are the two best audio books I've listened to lately:

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows. Runtime: about 8.5 hours

Between, Georgia, by Joshilyn Jackson. Runtime: about 9 hours.

Both feature complex characters who are thrown into unusual circumstances, much like Jodi Picoult's characters. Barnesandnoble.com gives a good synopsis of each.
