I need to read it and I only have a week left until I have to return it to the library. It's by Kim Edwards. No, I can't buy it cause I don't have money and please give me a direct link to the audio book, not ''this is the site, go search for it.'' I've tired a lot of sites and couldn't find it. Please, please help me!!!
And also, if someone knows a site where I can listen to the audio book for Lord of the Flies by William Golding, please leave that as well.
Please help me! I would read the book, it's just I can't find the time and I really need to read it!
If you can, read the book as it takes less time to read a books than to listen to them
I got a 400 page book and read it in a day. I got the audio book and it took three days to listen to it all. People just read faster than a book reader can talk! ;>)
Try your library's website for a LEGAL download of the audio book--if there IS one.
Not all books are turned into audio and this could be one of them.
Martin Jarvis Read Just William The Lost Tourist
I do but I only borrow them from the library . I just find there are certain books that are better listened to than read, especially ones with huge amounts of information and dates such as history books.
So if you listen to them ..what is your favourite? Do you react differently due to the human element?
My faves are I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings ~ Maya Angelou ( read by author) and Just William ~ Richmal Compton ( Martin Jarvis).
I find I cry and laugh out loud more when it's an audio book....dunno why :-)
Faith- It's great ..so evocative and sad but uplifting. Her voice is mesmerising as well :-)
I used to when I had a children's library ticket - as they could rent audio books for free in my county.
I think that adults have to pay for the loan?
I used to enjoy getting Bernard Cornwell books on tape (Sharpe) even though I had read the books anyway. Good fun and relaxing to listen to - especially when the guys put on the appropriate accents!
Of course they are all on CD now.
In my local London library in the "books for sale" section they have loads of the old tapes for sale. They are waiting in forlorn fashion for someone to pick them up and enjoy them, but will probably end up in the bin : (

In our collective enthusiasm for whiz-bang new social-networking tools like Twitter and Facebook, the implications of this next television age — from lower birthrates among poor women to decreased corruption to higher school enrollment rates — have largely gone overlooked despite their much more sweeping impact. And it’s not earnest educational programming that’s reshaping the world on all those TV sets. The programs that so many dismiss as junk — from song-and-dance shows to
Social change from soap operas? Kenny is referring to the research of U. Chicago Professor Emily Oster joint with Robert Jensen, which found in a rigorous study that the introduction of cable TV in rural India was associated with decreased acceptability of domestic violence, decreased preference for sons over daughters, and increased school enrollment for young children. Cable TV in India features mainly game shows and soap operas.
