I am wanting a good recomendation for a new fantasy series I can start that is available in audiobook format. It also needs to be available unabridged.
What is the Title, Author, and Why do you like it?
It needs to come in either CD or Cassette only (sorry no downloads).
Garth Nix's Abhorsen series, first book is "Sabriel." It is a great fantasy series, a little creepy, and read by Tim Curry.
Any of Tamora Pierce's work is very good. She's got two main series, and then sub series within one of them. I'd highly recommend any of the audio books, as they are done by Full Cast Audio, a great company.
Full Cast Audio also did the His Dark Materials series, by Philip Pullman. The first one, "The Golden Compass," is coming out as a movie this winter.
And of course, there's the Harry Potter books.

All day at work I'm allowed to listen to music. I thought I'd give it a shot one day with the first Harry Potter book. Time melted away like butter. Since then I've listened to the whole series and just finished book 1 and book 2 of the Eragon/ Inheritance series by Christopher Paolini. I loved both. Does anybody know of any comparable stories or just any good fiction and/or fantasy AUDIO BOOKS they'd recommend I listen to? Thanks for all the suggestions
Thank you LJ K. I'll be looking to the earthsea one you mentioned. and thanks everyone else, but I specifically said FANTASY AND/OR FICTION AUDIO BOOKS. and i didn't ask for where to look either, i just wanted some PERSONAL OPINIONS on AUDIO BOOKS
oh yeah and i'm still open for more suggestions. please do conitinue
I would suggest taking a look through your local library for audio books. They are free to check out and I have found several good audio books there such as The Last Apprentice: Revenge of The Witch.
LibriVox provides free audiobooks from the public domain. You might find something you like there.

Since you go through a lot of audio books it sounds like you would benefit from an audio book club in which you can buy, rent, and/or download audio books. (And save you $$)

I have a long drive to work and I have come to love audio books.
I started my audio book journey with great books but they where read in a dry matter. I then found the Harry potter series on audio I enjoyed the reader so much that I have now been listening nonstop to long series books on my way to work. So i want to now if anyone has suggestions on audio books that not only are a great book but are read in a pleasing way. like the harry potter and the Wheel of Time series.
here is a list of others i have listened to and enjoyed.
Harry Potter
DragonLance
Wheel of time
Lord of the rings (the hobbit)
Narnia
Sword of truth (terry goodkind)
mistborn (Sanderson)
inheritance cycle (Christopher Paolina)
You might try the Discworld series by Terry Pratchett. I've only read the text version, but those are great, and my friends who have the audiobooks have enjoyed them.
Although David Sedaris is more off-the-wall dry humor than fantasy, I've really enjoyed his readings of his books.
Please list some if available! And I don't like the twilight series... it bores me!
You should try the library. You can get a lot of audio books there. Its pretty cool. haha =]
Looking for places where I can listen to some fiction, especially fantasy and scifi.

Think about it – with audio books you can now save that extra time you spend reading a chapter on your favorite motivational book each morning before you leave for work. Apart from saving extra time, you are gaining extra knowledge in the process.
You can simply put it on to play while you prepare for work or even play it in your car on your way to work.
No wonder children, adults and even oldies have fallen head over heels in love with audio books.
