Eckhart Tolle Audio Book

In most of the audio books by Eckhart Tolle, one male voice asks Eckhart different questions, and the voice sounds so much like the actor Keanu Reeves. Does anyone know who's voice that is? (it's not Eckhart)...there's also a female voice...wondering who that is?? just curious...!

the only person mentioned in any of the reviews is Eckhart so I very much doubt that anyone like Keanu Reeves is also on the CD. I would have expected there to be some sort of acknowledgement at least of other voices in the notes accompanying the audio book and would suggest you might find your answer hidden there.

I just finished reading this book in its entirety, and it sounds to me like he's trying to take advantage of people by using big words and telling them he can help them find their "inner purpose," when really all he's doing is saying that thoughts are bad because they're caused by the ego and we need to shut them down. Since shutting off your thoughts is impossible, he's offering seminars and books and audio tapes to people for large sums of money so he can "help" them achieve this and become rich in the process. I think it sounds like he's trying to lead a cult because once people shut out their positive and negative thoughts, they'll be susceptible to give him more money and do whatever he tells them to. Then he can tell anyone who disagrees with him that they're just letting their "pain body" take over. Did anyone else get this message out of the book?

I would definitely question his sincerity, particularly if, as you say, he is selling his concepts through seminars, tapes, and DVDs. I have not read the book. I think, though, that it might be the one which Oprah chose for her on-line seminar with the author. I would be wary of anyone who tries to manipulate my thought processes! There are, in my opinion, far too many writers posing as authorities in psychology and other mind matters while lacking the credentials. If you distrust the author, do not invest any further in his offerings. As in all such instances, the person with the original idea will be the one who becomes rich at the expense of those who are seeking "enlightenment"!

I had a chance to listen to Eckhart Tolle's audio book entitled "The New Earth". I listened to a couple of chapters where he says that if you don't understand his viewpoint, then you are somehow not enlightened, I listened and understood what he said perfectly well but I didn't agree with him. Now with Oprah behind him pushing this down her viewers throats, I was curious how other people felt about it, and why they feel the way they do.
To be clear, I have never hated Oprah on a personal level, I just feel that she is transforming from talk show host to a "new age" televangelist and this makes her show almost unbearable for me personally to watch.

I think she went down hill a very long time ago. It's not like all that money wasn't ever gonna sink in. In her defence though she brings all the newest crap we would probably not otherwise hear about right out there for all to see. Remember the one about the husbands living on the down low? The people who watch her aren't being forced to so keep that in mind. Oprah 2000 years from now with all followers she has. She will be thought of as the second coming. No really I think it's between her and Madonna....

Hi does anybody know of a website that allows free downloading of spiritual audio and/or video content?

I'm interested in hearing more on Eckhart Tolle. I already have his books and a few cd's that my local bookshop holds.

I am not entirely sure if there is such a website that gives away "free" spiritual music. However, you can probably just find some of his other songs at youtube.com.

If you do find a "free download" website, make sure that it is legal!
