I'm looking forward to going back to school for the digital arts. I know there are many jobs in the field and I was wondering if there is a book out there that talks about the many different jobs available in the digital arts. I am decent in Illustrator and Photoshop but would like to know more about what's out there and what kind of jobs people are actually doing after college.
well i would advise you to search on yahoo jobs to have an idea of job prospects

I'm talking about digital books etc...
Not really, because it takes alot of energy to use the computer. And besides, the other books are already printed so it's not like your "saving" trees as the trees are already dead to make the books in the first place. (:

I really do. I don't mean illegal downloads, and I'm not talking about the kindle. Its way too expensive and I don't care what Oprah said about that it pays for itself. Frankly she's way too into the marketing these days.
I mean digital downloads, I want to get a book as soon as a writer publishes it with all the illustrations and stuff.
Try using the ebook function from Borders... the Sony reader program can be downloaded to you computer and your books read there (I use it).
Also try
http://www.fictionwise.com/
they offer downloads in .lit (Microsoft Reader format again Free)
.pdf (adobe reader which is free) and something else I am not sure about..
Like you I can't justify the cost of the Kindle... the machine is just too expensive so I use these other methods..
Also there are specialty sites for other books like erotica (www.ellorascave.com) where you can find other books.
edit: I also like the feel of a real book in my hands,...but ebooks are often less expensive so I find if I really love it.. I will go out and get a solid copy of it later. IF not and I feel like rereading it .. Well its still available on the puter.
im not sure what you mean but if you mean can you discuss them with other people or recommend them to friends - definitely yes
i have a book but is to old it doesn't talk about digital photography or zoom lenses so i would like to find something more recent about photography.

Digital Talking-Book Internet Service from NLS Delivers One ...
If we’re reading this correctly, in less than a year the new digital service from National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (NLS), Library of Congress, had more than one million items downloaded. That’s with a user base of around 15,000 qualified users (vs. 800,000 users for the “traditional” program.) Very Impressive!
