Is an Ipod shuffle a good MP3 player for audio books?

My mom has poor vision, and misses reading. I want to buy her an MP3 player that's small and easy to use. Maybe for a bit of music for her too. But if an Ipod shuffle shuffles, will it be any good for an audio book or will it mix the chapters up? Any suggestions for a player that is suitable would be appreciated! Thanks!

I would get her a cd player instead. Most audiobooks come on CDs now, and the ones online you can download and save to a CD. I would think a portable CD player would be easier and probably cheaper to get in the long run, especially if she has poor vision.. I read alot of audiobooks and find CDs a great way to do it. You can check CD audiobooks out from the library; if you set her up with an MP3 player you will more than likely have to help her with each book you get. She can have more control and freedom with CDs.

audio books on RCA Jet?

I reccently got an RCA Jet MP3 player and I was wondering how to put audio books on it because it will not let me put it in the audio book section, only mixed in with all the other music, I can download it from audible.com, but I want to get my audio books from local libraries, because it costs money on audible.com. This is the website for my mp3, http://www.rcajet.com/ if you can help me please do.

Try YAKiToMe! (free website that lets you turn any text into an audio book podcast) to see if it will drive your MP3 player. It has a free public library of audio books, too.

When I copy from Windows Media Player to my MP3 player the files end up on the MP3 player in the wrong order?

If I copy an an audio book the chapters are mixed up and the MP3 player doesn't allow me to rearrange the order.
It is a relatively cheap Acoustic Solutions MP3 player 2GB, could that be the problem?

it all depends on what time of mp3player you have, they can all be listed by artist in alpha no in the name of the song in alpha.
I say if you want a better mp3player try a Creative Zen, they are amazing wih organizing you things, especialy you songs.

How can I achieve professional mixing of audio files?

I'm making a CD to go with a book and the opening track needs music followed by the title of the book. I downloaded stock music and put it in track one but cannot figure out how to record voice over the existing MP3 file or to copy the music to use as background. How can I do that? And how can I equalize the tone and volume of other voice tracks that I have recorded using the Windows Sound Recorder that was bundled with the operating system? The resulting files are in WMP format.

Thanks!

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download / you will also need to download the Lame.dll to output MP3

  • The New Generation of Music Channels « Audio Cream

While some people enjoy watching teenagers rummage through other people’s rooms to choose a blind date, or seeing fake-breasted women claw each other’s eyes out over a washed-up rock star, others bemoan the fate of music channels like MTV and VHI, whose music coverage have for the most part gone by the wayside as producers increasingly leave behind the music video niche previously established for these channels and adapt a trashy reality TV format that caters more to contemporary pop culture’s attention deficit disorder than to music lovers.

Luckily for music fans, all hope is not lost.  For those of you who prefer dancing along with your TV to seeing the caked-on makeup of teenaged Los Angeles socialites in high-definition, you can now access the radio through your TV.  With satellite TV, you can enjoy over fifty channels of uninterrupted music, news and sports.  You don’t have to suffer through any commercials heralding the next season of reality stars eating gross things off each other’s bodies for cash or love.  And it’s better than a radio because there are no blabbering, self-promoting DJs that you have to sit through before getting to the music.  The music channels don’t show music videos, but the variety of choices available provide perfect background music for any number of activities.
