My Dad like military thrillers. He has probably read everything by Tom Clancy (well when he still wrote the books), and Stephen Coonts. It's not really my genre so I'd like some suggestions on what audio book to get him for Christmas.
I would suggest you get him a subscription to Audible.com - that way, he can pick a few books a month of his choosing, and not just have one very expensive audiobook. I mean, those usually go for like $50-60, but an audible.com subscription is much, much cheaper and he can get several books a month with it.

It’s no secret that we love playing video games. Give us a gun, a few friends and we’re happy as a clam. Just don’t call us for a few day. So naturally, when Ubisoft came calling about creating an updated mnemonic for their brand Tom Clancy’s, it was pretty much a head shot with a 50 cal sniper gun (in non nerd talk, that translates to “hellz yeah.” The objective was rather straightforward, update the familiar Tom Clancy’s “clang” tag for use in games, commercials and theatrical applications and integrate it with the Ubisoft brand into a neat 5 second package. Okay, so maybe it wasn’t that simple.
Luckily, we had some help from our friends Hugh Barton and Scott Holt from Glue to provide some cool sound design.
