I need a program, an easy to use one, for this HP audio book file. It's 21 hours long and Windows Movie Maker is too time consuming to use to I need a good program so I can cut the large file in sections. Anyone know of a good one please?
If you have garage band it is very easy to cut and edit recorded audio -
Garage Band comes standard on all Macs

I don't want video, I just want sound. I'm making a homemade audio book for my mom for Christmas and I'm recording it with my camera (because it has good sound equipment). The plan is to put it on windows movie maker and then take the sound from it and somehow burn it to a CD. Can anyone tell me how to do that?
use a video audio extractor

Hi everyone, I'm thinking of doing a trailer mash-up, think Brokeback to the Future, Must Love Jaws, Lake House Parody and Naruto Matrix on YouTube. You take the audio of one trailer and sync it with the visuals of another for humourous effect.
I have Windows Movie Maker, but it is proving very difficult to sync the video clips to the soundtrack.
What I do is start from the beginning and work to the end, placing the clips from Trailer A which I want to match to the audio from Trailer B in sequence. But when I edit an earlier clip's length, my entire work is no longer in sync, i.e. I chop ten seconds off one earlier clip, and all the clips are 10 seconds faster than the audio! It's like removing a book from a shelf and WMM pushes all the books together, closing the gap. I don't want that to happen! How do I keep all the clips in place and prevent them from being pushed together?
Alternatively, if you do mash-ups, what programs do you use and how do ya do it?
Windows Movie Maker sucks. It's not for any sort of advanced editing at all. But since you have it, see if there are different buttons for lift and extract. In other programs there are ways to lift out a piece without shifting anything. If there isn't then try replacing what you're taking out with some blank filler. I suggest getting a better program like Adobe Premier, Avid, or Final Cut. These can get costly but you can get way more creative with them.

I'm sure a lot of you are struggling of not having a movie maker, me too :C.
I just bought my mac book, and I usually record videos from the laptop's camera and drag the video to movie maker to silence the audio and put music instead i also like to fast the video and all these effects if you know what i mean .. One of my friends who also has a mac told me that there's an "iMovie" that she believes it's the same as movie maker, she never used it before though so i tried using it. I recorded a video and tried dragging it to iMovie, but I couldn't :(
anyone ? please help!
If you're really hating Mac, and you have a Windows CD around, try VirtualBox made by Sun (the guys behind Java). Make a fake hard drive, install Windows on it, and away you go! You can save things in a place you Mac can get at them too. http://www.virtualbox.org/
For a movie maker...? Sorry, I'm just plumb out of ideas. Funny Mac always gets the good reputation for being a movie-making computer. There are some "freeware" programs available for the Mac online, but frankly none of them look very legit.
ok i have this audio book but its broken up into parts and they are mp3 files. i want to put it on my iphone as an audiobook.
what i want is to merge multiple mp3 files into 1 big one
i tried windows movie maker but it failed epicly
any help?
I find tons of small programs to do this...

Just pick one and try it, many freewares among these.

Makers audiobook: direct from the author, no DRM, no EULA - Boing ...
I've just set up a store selling direct MP3 downloads of the Random House audiobook for my last novel, Makers , thanks to the good offices of Random House Audio, the eShop WordPress plugin, and Mike Little, my WordPress tech guy.
The Makers audiobook runs 18.5 hours and is formatted for burning onto 15 CDs. It's read by Bernadette Dunne. I really like Dunne's reading ( here's a sample ) and RHA's production job is tops. The MP3s are 128K/44KHz.
I get an additional 20 percent on top of my customary royalty if you buy it from me, and you get a book that has no DRM and no crappy "license agreement" requiring...
