I am wanting to buy a IPOD to listen to audio books on. I don't know much about IPODS and need some help as to which one I need to buy. I don't want to buy a product with more GB than I need because cost is an issue. I am picturing me buying one book at a time.

a 1gb should be enough i had one of the harry potter books on a 1gb and still had a little bit of room left so it should be just right for an audiobook and it was like the 6th book which isnt small haha

Hello -

I have an audio book that I ripped from CD. Is there any way to make ipod recognize this as an audiobook instead of 'music'?

By recognize it as an audio book I assume you mean that Itunes automatically puts in it your audio book on your ipod. This is something I have done a lot of research on and I was unable to come up with any way to do it. When you purchase an audio book from itunes its coded as an audio book and allowed to be put into the audio book folder. When you add one that was ripped or downloaded from another site itunes never coded it as an audio book and there for itunes doesnt know to put it in the correct folder. This is true for pod casts as well.

What I do with mine is to select all the chapters and edit the Artist as the Author of the book, then change the title of each chapter as Chapter 1, Chapter 2 and so on. The first part is easy as you can select all the chapters together (left click on the firs chapter, hold down the shift key and left click on the last chapter then with all of them selcted right click on any of them and select Get Info, then change the Artist to the Author's name. Change the genre while you're at it to Books & Spoken Word.

I purchased an audio book from Audible.com and downloaded it to Itunes. When I go to sync my Ipod however, the audio book is not included in the sync. How do I get it on my Ipod? I have tried dragging it to my Ipod, but it won't let me.
