how can i stop procrastinating?

please help, it sounds stupid but my parents dont believe it, they just think i cant be bothered.

ok im 16 and have to work at school now, but i just can't. i always leave work until the day its due in, and i end up copying people. what happens is i sit with the work in front of me and i just get side tracked, like i will tap a tune and then something after something, and i then just end up scribbling on the paper with doodles and nothing gets done until i copy somebody. however i only switch on in exam conditions, like i havent revised one bit for my gcse science exams, i had 2 multiple choice papers for bio, chem and physics, and i got 100% in both my chem and a B and an A in bio, and a C and a B in physice (btw i hate physics). for the next written paper which was an hour i got 100% in both my chem and bio exams and 80 in my physics. in my mock english exam i got an A* which was a real gcse paper, but in class when we have an essay to do i am always behind, and stay up way into the morning the night before the deadline, yet by doing this i still end up with top marks. and it troubles me.

i can only truely get things done if i enjoy them, which is music. i love my music but if i forget to practice or i hate a peice i have to lean, then i put it off before the day i have a lesson at school, and do nothing and i bunk off the lessons and i get scared to go see the teacher so i end up bunking off most of the lessons. this peice was 2 pages long andd terribly easy, i had to learn it for an exam, i took me a year, i have just finished it now, so we cant do the exam because i was too late, yet i had a 4 page chopin prelude to learn, i completed it in a week and it was a thousand times harder. (with one of my teachers i have 2) and the other one i always do the work as its soo fun. i find reading books incredibly hard, i find that i have to read a page at least twice for the words to sink in, so i solve it by listening to audio books and reading along.

but it worrys me, as i am writing this i havent learnt my piano part for my lesson, and i feel the like thing in the back of my throat and i just get soo furious with myself i throw tantrums and can cry, yes i am a guy ok.

just writing this now i want a change i want to be able to do work, and do homework and study by myself. and get things done. i have read about procrastination, and i am a perfectionist, and if i can't perfect it i do a rubbish job at it.

but this is weird because im talking about myself how i want to be, but when i like have the chance to do things i just dont, i do something else. but this really worrys me as i want to go to music college.

im making a timetable now of what things to do at what time.

please please help it worrys me and baffles me. but i dont know who to talk to what to do, how to be motivated
yea i did ask this when i was doing work, i was bored as shit. but i just dont want to end up a failure, sorry for writing so much, its just so much bothers me.

because everywhere i have read it says procrastinators have poor lives, as they dont commit to work and dont earn alot and end up getting divorced as were not able to live with like im an alien, so i just want it gone.

I have a procrastinating problem too. Your getting good grades, so thats good. But if this is really bothering you, listen to music while you do your work, and make sure you know when it is due. Try to force yourself to stay on track.

And i think its kool that you throw tantrums and stuff. Not many guys have the guts to do so.

Practice piano every day. I do. Well, sorta, but it does help. And listen to piano music while you do your work. It helps too. I have tons of home made piano music that I listen to. I get it off this website that i love.
For good piano music, look up Reasoner for the author, or just email me if you want them.

do you think I'm learning fast or not?

Hi, there... I'm an 18 year old Filipino student. Early this year, I came to study a new language, not because it's required in my curriculum (B.S. Information Technology) but because I WANT IT. I study, Spanish but after few weeks, I gave up. aLSo last year, I TRY TO STUDY Mandarin, but it works nothing. Starting last March, i decided to study French, because of its chic factor, and challenge in pronunciation.
Since then, i spend my summer vacation (late March upto early June to a continuous learning. I'm studying, from 2pm from the afternoon, upto 5am the next day... about 15 hours of straight studying over the net for three months. i sleep 5am until noon.

as a result, i came to memorize with the RIGHT pronunciation of several conversational phrases, the alphabet, the right pronunciation of vowels, consonants, vowel combinations, accented vowels and the likes.

Also, due to my love for Canada, i memorize the national anthem of Canada, in both English and French verse.

As i embrace the french language in my life, i also memorize the national anthem of France.

Going deeply, i study and memorize several Disney Songs, such as Ce reve bleu (a whole new world french version)
un nouveau monde (a whole new world canadian french version)
l'amour brille sous les etoiles -(can you feel the love tonight french version)
Ne m'oublie pas (sang by Roch Voisine)
Helene (sang by Roch Voisine)
J'ai pas vingt ans (Alizee)
Somewhere out there (french version)

and very recently, i came to watch "LOVE ME IF YOU DARE" (Jeux d'enfants")-- a French movie released by paramount pictures.

i've done all of this due to massive effort researches, because for me it's not that hard to find songs and movies to be played back infinite times.. haha, lol.

i also came with me four books which i bought.
1. Living Language package
French --Learn in 4 simple steps; Complete Course-The Basics
French Dictionary
4 audio cd

2.Geddess and Grosset
French-English and English French Dictionary with vocabulary, phrases and verb tenses, and culture notes included.

3. Say it Right in French (McCain Graw Hill)

4. the internet.
www.ielanguage.com
www.about.com
www.bonjour.com
i forgot the other 11.

and i'm looking forward to be enrolled in Alliance Francaise de Manille, somehow to be able to have me certificate in what i'm effortly doing.

***SO DO YOU THINK, IM DOING A RIGHT STRATEGY? OR IM MOVING A SLOW PACE?

IM IN MY 8TH MONTH OF STUDYING ON THE LAST WEEK OF NOVEMBER/

If I was you I would keep taking Spanish, actually Tagalog has many words from Spanish, that could help you to learn Spanish faster.
